Quang Ninh suspends kayak paddling service in Ha Long Bay
On March 29, the Ha Long City People's Committee (Quang Ninh) announced the suspension of all kayak paddling services on Ha Long Bay from April 1.
According to the Ha Long City People's Committee, the number of kayaks operating on Ha Long Bay is growing rapidly, while organizations and individuals conducting this service do not have approved operating plans. Organizing kayak paddling services without price listing or not adhering to the listed prices, overcharging tourists, affects the tourism business environment on the bay.
Ha Long City also requested the owners of tourist boats to comply with the announcement of the Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee regarding boat owners not independently conducting kayak business, leading to a reduction in the number of fixed crew members present regularly on the boats... If violated, Ha Long City will request the Inland Waterway Port Authority to suspend port departure permits for a minimum of 30 days.
