VirtualBox supports creating virtual machines that support multiple operating systems with large amounts of RAM and hard drive storage, ensuring smooth operation on the host machine, safe storage, and quick data access.
How to Install a Virtual Machine Using VirtualBox
Guide to Setting Up a Virtual Machine Using VirtualBox
Step 1: Download and install VirtualBox on your computer. You can download the latest version of VirtualBox from here.
Step 2: Launch the program and then click on New in the top menu.
Step 3: A new dialog box will appear. Enter the name in the Name
Step 4: A new window will appear. Proceed to set the RAM memory for the virtual machine. Then click Next.
- Note:
- This virtual RAM capacity will be allocated from the real RAM on the physical computer
Step 5: Next, proceed to set up the disk for the virtual machine. Choose Create a virtual hard drive now to create a separate drive for the virtual machine, then press Create.
You can leave the default options for the drive as VDI, then click Next.
Next, select Dynamically expanding storage: This type of virtual hard drive expands as needed, or Fixed-size storage: This type of virtual hard drive has a fixed capacity. Press Next to continue.
Here, you specify the storage location for your virtual hard drive by clicking on the yellow button below to choose the storage location. Next, determine the size of the virtual hard drive to suit your needs, then press Create.
Step 6: From the program interface, select the virtual machine you just created, then press Start.
Step 7: A new window will appear. Here, click on the yellow icon to navigate to the location of the ISO file of the operating system, select Open, then press Start to begin the Windows installation process.
Step 8: The process is underway, similar to installing Windows normally.
Step 9: Wait for a moment for the process to complete. And here is the result.
We have just completed the steps to install a virtual machine using VirtualBox. This way, you can create your own virtual machine using virtualization technology. Additionally, you can learn how to share data between the host and virtual machines to use virtual machines on the host more easily.
