National ID card with a chip, also known as the Citizen Identification Card (CIC), stands as one of the most essential documents for Vietnamese citizens. However, there are instances where we may lose or damage the CIC and need a replacement. If you want to learn how to register for an eID online directly on your phone or computer, then follow the step-by-step guide below and let's get started!
Process of Reissuing Chip-Embedded eID
Step 1: First, log in to the Public Service Portal of the Ministry of Public Security using the link below by clicking on the three horizontal lines icon in the top right corner of the screen > then select login > next, choose the login method with an account provided by the National Public Service Portal to proceed with the login.
Step 2: Now, log in to the National Public Service Portal by entering your ID card or eID number and password, followed by the authentication code to complete the login > after successful login, in the citizen section, click on residence and personal documents to register or reissue personal documents.
Step 3: In the residence and personal documents section, click on Citizen ID/Identity Card > then click on apply for reissuing citizen ID card (currently implemented at the provincial level) to submit the reissuance request directly on your phone.
Step 4: Now, in the section for reissuing Citizen ID card (currently implemented at the provincial level), click on submit online application to proceed with submitting the request for reissuing the eID.
Step 5: Now, carefully review your eID information and family contact information > then check the boxes as shown below to select the address for receiving the eID card and confirm the reissuance > next, click continue > at this point, you will be scheduled for eID information collection > then click continue to proceed to the next step.
Step 6: At this point, your screen will display the prepared request form from the previous steps. After carefully reading, click confirm submission to receive the receipt and application acceptance code > then print this receipt and go to the appointed location and time for eID reissuance.
