Oppo Reno stands out as the company's most beautifully designed product to date, especially with its distinctive shark fin camera, completely setting it apart from market competitors.
1. Quick hands-on with Oppo Reno Standard Edition: Exceptionally beautiful design, eye-catching edge-to-edge display, unique shark fin camera, expected price of 13 million VND
Oppo Reno is the most beautifully designed product from the brand to date, notably featuring a unique shark fin camera, completely differentiating it from its market counterparts.
Oppo Reno is the latest smartphone from the company, making a significant impact in the tech community since its introduction. According to Oppo Vietnam, the product will officially hit the Vietnamese market in June with an expected price of around 13 million VND. The price for the Oppo Reno Zoom 10x variant is still undisclosed.
Reno is positioned as Oppo's new product line, resulting in distinctive packaging compared to the F Series. The box dimensions are elongated, a departure from the norm in the market.

The front of the box no longer features an image of the smartphone; instead, it outlines two representative circles for the dual rear cameras and a long line symbolizing the glossy glass cover with the text 'Design by Oppo' on the back.

The top compartment is designed for the device, with the Oppo brand name extending across the remaining space.

The bottom compartment houses accessories, including a flexible plastic case, charger, cable, and earphones.

Oppo Reno comes in two color variants: Phantom Black and Ocean Green.
The most impressive feature on the back is the camera section, embedded beneath the glass surface, providing a seamless design from top to bottom. Additionally, below this dual camera setup, there is a small protruding circular bump, Oppo's solution to prevent scratches on the glass camera surface when placing the device on a table.

Oppo Reno also adopts the 'thò thụt' pop-up selfie camera design similar to the F11 Pro. However, Reno's design has a unique twist: opening up in a shark fin shape, setting it apart from most current smartphones with pop-up modules.
According to Oppo, the fin's opening speed is within 0.8 seconds, at an 11-degree tilt, and is entirely capable of exceeding 200,000 uses. The rear of this shark fin houses a Flash, so in low-light conditions, it opens to allow the Flash to operate when capturing rear camera shots.

In terms of specifications, Reno's rear camera features a Sony IMX 586 48 MP f/1.7 sensor with optical image stabilization, while the remaining 5 MP f/2.4 camera handles depth sensing. The front selfie camera is 16 MP f/2.0 (with a front flash).

A few quick shots with 2x Zoom showcase impressive quality from this device, even in less-than-ideal lighting conditions:

And here are some deeper zoom shots, progressing from 1x, 2x, 5x to 10x:

On the front, due to the concealed camera design, the screen has a more expansive space, maximizing the edges. Oppo states that the Reno screen lacks a 'waterdrop' notch, a 'rabbit ear' design, or any distracting elements. The height of the screen bottom is only 3.5mm, resulting in a large screen ratio of 93.1%.

The Reno screen measures 6.4 inches, utilizing an AMOLED panel with Full HD+ resolution.

The device also features an in-display fingerprint scanner and is protected by Gorilla Glass 6.
Under the hood is the Snapdragon 710 chip, a robust choice in the mid-range segment. It comes with 6GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, without support for a microSD slot. Due to time constraints, we assessed the device's performance through benchmark software like AnTuTu, GeekBench, and 3DMark. A more in-depth evaluation will be conducted with intensive tasks and gaming once we have the official product for testing.

Oppo Reno standard edition and the Zoom 10x variant are set to debut on June 6th. Stay tuned to discover the retail prices of these impressive duos.
