Compared to its predecessor, the Latitude 5510 appears more attractive and elegant. The machine is coated in a predominantly silver color tone. Moreover, I used to think it was made from plastic like the old versions. But no, the 5510 is made from post-industrial recycled carbon fiber material. I really like it because this material can protect the environment while ensuring superior durability compared to plastic.
Extremely satisfying build quality because just by touching and holding it, I feel very confident. The machine has no flex even when I shake and move the screen.
The hinge of the machine is sturdy, requiring two hands to open. The machine is quite heavy with a weight of 1.8kg.
However, the point I'm not satisfied with this machine is that it's still quite thick compared to laptops produced at the same time. But in return, it has all the necessary connection ports. With 3 USB type A ports, 1 LAN port, 1 SIM card slot, 1 micro SD slot, 1 Thunderbolt 3 port with fast charging support.
The keyboard provides a comfortable typing experience, but the touchpad is not really high-quality
The machine's keyboard is a full-size keyboard with a numeric keypad on the right. The keyboard has LED lights to assist users working in low-light conditions. The key travel of the machine is very deep for a comfortable typing experience. The key spacing is just right, so I rarely hit the wrong key while typing. In summary, I rate the keyboard of this 5510 model as good quality.
However, the touchpad is not really high-quality. The surface of the touchpad may be made of carbon material, so the swiping feeling is quite rough. Sometimes I even feel that the touchpad response is not standard, causing discomfort when in use.
Average quality screen
The screen measures 15.6 inches with Full HD resolution of 1920x1080px and an IPS panel. The color coverage on the screen is only 57% sRGB and 40% AdobeRGB. However, the colors are quite accurate with a color deviation of 1.4 Delta E. The screen brightness falls around 300 nits. With this brightness, it can be used in the office, in coffee shops, but difficult to use outdoors in strong light.
Core i5 10th generation configuration - basic performance
The machine features a Core i5 10th generation configuration - 10210U, 8GB RAM, and 256GB M2 PCIe NVME Class 35 2230 1080 SSD. This is a configuration for basic tasks lasting 4-5 years.
