A couple residing in Texas, USA, makes the bold decision to temporarily halt their money-making endeavors to fulfill their dream of exploring the world for 6 months.
Two years ago, Seth and Olivia Hanson – a couple living in Austin, Texas, USA – decided to quit their jobs, sell their house, and embark on a 6-month journey to 10 countries. It was truly a dream vacation for this couple. Seth worked in banking while Olivia was a real estate manager.
'One night we talked about taking a break and traveling. Then we grabbed a piece of paper and wrote down our dream destinations. The list of places the couple wanted to visit was almost identical,' Seth Hanson shared on Business Insider.
Since the idea came up, both of them wasted no time in turning their dream into reality. The places they visited included Brazil, Peru, Ecuador, Hong Kong (China), Bali (Indonesia), Singapore, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, and India.

Afterwards, they booked budget hotel rooms through websites, saving 50% on accommodations in most of the planned destinations. The cost per person for the trip was $12,000.
At their first stop in South America, the couple realized major tourist spots like Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) and Machu Picchu (Peru) weren't their favorites anymore. They preferred remote places like Jericoara (Brazil) or Jaisalmer (India) over crowded and noisy destinations. India became their favorite during the trip. There, they made friends with locals, shared dinners, played games with children, and enjoyed $1 roadside meals.

'We visited some temples and admired the cityscape from above in India. Olivia cried from the overwhelming beauty. It was truly an amazing moment,' Seth recounted.
