Recently on October 20th, a baby sea turtle named Blanche – an albino sea turtle – extremely rare, was born at the 'Let’s Get Cracking' egg center on the beach of Six Senses Con Dao resort.

Blanche is a Chelonia Mydas turtle, also known as a green sea turtle, born with a condition called albinism, a rare genetic mutation that causes a reduction in pigmentation (pigmentation determines skin, hair, and eye color in humans and animals). Although there are no precise statistics on the incidence of albinism in sea turtles, it is recognized that turtles with this syndrome are very rare, with some marine biologists estimating the incidence to be one in hundreds of thousands of sea turtle eggs hatched.
