Motherboard is an indispensable component, the most important part of a computer. The quality of the computer largely depends on the quality of the motherboard. If this component is of poor quality, it means the computer system operates sluggishly and often encounters malfunctions.
The main reason is due to the drivers you are using on your computer. Typically, a computer will include main drivers such as Chipset, graphics card, network and Wi-Fi card, sound card, battery (for laptops), Bluetooth device, laptop touchpad. To check and download appropriate drivers for these components, you must first know how to read the motherboard's name.
How to Identify and Download Drivers on Motherboard
Turn on the computer and check the information on the motherboard. For example, in the image below, you will find:
- Manufacturer: (in this case, it's Gigabyte)
- Mainboard model number (in this case, it's GA-G31M-ES2C)
After you have accurately identified the Mainboard name, the next step is to visit the manufacturer's website and download the Driver.
How to download Driver:
(You can choose one of the following two methods)
Method 1: In our opinion, this is the fastest way.
Description: Typically, you would have to download each Driver individually. However, with this method, you only need to locate the Network Card - LAN Driver (to establish an Internet connection). After establishing an internet connection, you can use the Driver Easy software to automatically detect (See how to update Driver using Driver Easy). If you do not want to use Driver Easy, you can refer to method 2
- Advantages: Automatically detects and installs all necessary drivers for the computer
Here:
- Download type: Select the driver type to download to your computer.
- Choose your OS: Choose the operating system version your computer is using (here I select Windows XP 64-bit).
After selecting the operating system version, the website will display downloadable drivers including Audio, Chipset, LAN, etc. with details such as Driver Name - Version - File Size - Release Date - Download.
For this method, select LAN and download the LAN Driver to your computer.
After installation, restart your computer and use Driver Easy as described in method 1 that I have presented.
