After numerous leaks, Xiaomi has officially introduced the Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro product line. This year's flagship versions bring many changes, from external design to performance. In this article, Mytour presents readers with a detailed look at the standard Xiaomi 13. It is the only version with a flat back and a sleek square frame, completely different from the curved design on the Pro model.

The version featured in this article is the one Xiaomi sent to Chinese media outlets. Therefore, the packaging will be slightly different from the commercial version. The device's box will be placed in a larger box, accompanied by a red leather bag with the Leica logo.

Xiaomi 13 still comes with a complete set of fast charger, USB-C charging cable, and transparent silicone case. Perhaps Xiaomi no longer considers... 'environmental protection'?
Xiaomi offers four main color options: black, white, blue, and mint green. However, the device will also have limited additional color choices such as red, green, yellow, gray... The version in this article features a beautiful mint green color with a gentle green tone.

Let's start with the design of Xiaomi 13 this year, which has undergone a radical transformation compared to its predecessors and even the previous Mi flagship series. The most significant change is the placement of the main camera module on the back, accompanied by a square-edged frame design instead of the curved back seen in the Pro version. In the Chinese smartphone market, curved screen designs are still favored for the highest-end flagship models, while more budget-friendly or mid-range models tend to adopt a square frame.

The back of Xiaomi 13 is crafted from glossy glass, departing from the matte glass finish on the previous 12 series. The back, while not entirely flat like Apple's iPhone design, features slightly curved edges, enhancing the comfort of holding and preventing discomfort during use.

Notably, the back houses a large camera setup, consisting of three lenses within a relatively sizable camera module. The square-shaped camera module accommodates three lenses with an LED flash. In terms of camera specifications, Xiaomi 13 sees an upgrade from its predecessor. Specifically, it includes a 50MP wide-angle sensor (IMX800), a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 10MP 3.2X telephoto camera. Leica collaborates on this camera setup to enhance image quality.

On the front, Xiaomi 13 boasts a 6.36-inch display, slightly larger than the 6.28-inch screen on the Xiaomi 12. This 12-bit display employs an OLED panel with FHD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, maximum brightness of 1800 nits, and integrates a 32MP selfie camera in the center, along with an in-display optical fingerprint sensor. Of course, this is a flat screen, not a curved one. The display quality leaves little to be desired.

For performance, Xiaomi 13 is equipped with the powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip recently introduced by Qualcomm. This marks Xiaomi's first device featuring the latest flagship chip. The phone comes with 8GB/12GB of RAM and storage options of 128GB/256GB or 512GB. The 128GB variant uses UFS 3.1 memory, while the rest utilize the latest UFS 4.0 for exceptionally fast read and write speeds.

In performance tests using the dedicated AnTuTu Benchmark v9 software, Xiaomi 13 with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip can achieve a score of up to 1.3 million points. With Geekbench 5, the device also demonstrates high single-core and multi-core performance, ensuring smooth performance for all popular games in the market.
Xiaomi 13 is equipped with a 4500mAh battery, supporting Turbo Charge 67W with the included charger, allowing a 100% charge in approximately 38 minutes of charging. While not as fast as Xiaomi 13 Pro or Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus with 120W and 240W power, respectively, it still offers a substantial charging capacity, fully meeting users' needs. The phone runs on Android 13 with the newly introduced MIUI 14 interface.

In terms of pricing, Xiaomi 13 is available in the Chinese market starting from 3999 yuan, equivalent to 13.5 million VND, which is about 3 million VND cheaper than the Pro version.
