Teyvat may be visually stunning, but danger lurks within the world of Genshin Impact.
1. Enemies are everywhere
Exploring the world is exciting, but constant encounters with foes can be exhausting. One misstep could lead to an ambush by Treasure Hoarders or an unexpected encounter with a horde of Slimes scattered across the continent of Teyvat.
In Liyue, ferocious Geo Hypostases lurk menacingly, ready to strike at any moment. The relentless aggression of these creatures, along with the cunning tactics of Abyss Mages and the treachery of Abyss Order, make Teyvat an exceedingly perilous realm.
2. Celestia poses a constant threat
The Unknown God destroyed Khaenri'ah because she felt everything related to this land could surpass surveillance, a scenario entirely plausible for the continent of Teyvat.
Hypothesis: Fontaine is a nation with superior technology, which could potentially pose a threat to Celestia. If Celestia deems Fontaine non-compliant with the divine order, everything could be wiped out in an instant.
3. Teyvat remains in a state of war
In reality, Teyvat remains in a perpetual state of conflict. Wars have raged for millennia, from the era of the Archons to the Battle of the God of War. Tensions persist, especially since Khaenri'ah was recently obliterated shortly before the present time.
Ancient beings remain oblivious to the current Archons, showing little to no respect for them. The Cryo Archon even raises an army to assail Teyvat. Inazuma suffers under the unyielding rule of the Raiden Shogun. And that's not even mentioning the chaos wrought by the Abyss Order.
4. The Fatui's control
The Fatui, essentially diplomats from Snezhnaya. The Eleven Fatui Harbingers, under the command of the Cryo Archon, employ military might to intimidate and provoke conflicts among nations in Teyvat. They are highly organized and formidable, the strongest military force on the continent. The Fatui play various roles, from politicians to merchants to soldiers.
The Fatui are present in every nation of Teyvat and enjoy special diplomatic privileges, such as unrestricted passage through Inazuma despite its closed ports. They have committed numerous atrocities, including human experimentation, illicit substance creation, and attempted mass murder. A force like the Fatui makes Teyvat far from ideal for existence.
5. Navigating Teyvat is a challenge
The terrain of Teyvat is incredibly diverse, varying drastically between nations. While the Frosty Snowlands of Mondstadt are frigid, the Enkanomiya beneath Inazuma is perpetually shrouded in darkness. Liyue boasts towering, treacherous mountains, beautiful yet perilous. In contrast, Inazuma is a remote island plagued by constant storms at sea, making for a perilous journey. Adventuring in Teyvat can easily lead to getting lost or losing one's life at any moment.
