Faker has shared insights on the day the Korean LoL team embarked on their journey for ASIAD Hangzhou.
On August 28th (Vietnam time), the South Korean League of Legends (LoL) team, led by Faker as captain, officially commenced their campaign for ASIAD Hangzhou. This year's tournament holds special significance for LCK as it marks the first time LoL, specifically, and Esports, in general, have the chance to compete for medals. With a carefully selected lineup, Faker and his teammates aim for nothing less than the gold medal.

During the launch ceremony, Faker also made notable remarks, particularly reminiscing about ASIAD 2018. That year's tournament marked the debut of Esports at a continental sporting event. However, as it was purely for demonstration purposes, LoL teams didn't enjoy the same privileges as traditional athletes. That year, Faker and his teammates fell to the Chinese LoL team. This serves as one reason why the Korean LoL team is determined to seek revenge this time.

Additionally, Faker shared surprising memories from ASIAD 2018. Faker said, 'At the previous Asian sporting event, we only had one meal a day, just bread. This time we got to eat a little more, and I'm satisfied.' This was confirmed by a KeSPA representative. The shared reason was that back then, LoL, in particular, was purely for demonstration, so the team's finances were very low. In contrast, conditions have improved significantly this time. According to coach kkOma, KeSPA has prepared the best equipment to meet all the players' training needs.

Faker's insights have deeply touched the hearts of many 'Demon King' fans and the Korean LoL team. It's well known that continuously engaging the mind for a long period under stressful conditions requires a lot of energy. However, the players were only allowed to eat very little, if not less than the average person's portion.

This time at ASIAD, everything has changed. Faker and his teammates must perform at their best. For Faker, his role is even more crucial now as he is the leader of the national representative team competing in the largest sporting event in Asia. It's highly likely that Faker's performance will determine the success or failure of the Korean LoL team at this ASIAD.
