Don't worry, it's just a matter of different album functionality in iOS 8. All your old photos are still there; it's just the interface of the photo loader that has changed.
Unlike the old iOS 7 Camera Roll albums, iOS 8 only displays images and videos from the last 30 days of usage.
If you haven't used your iPad or iPhone for anything significant beyond 30 days, all your old photos and videos are still stored on your device, just in a different location. Instead of the Albums tab, navigate to the 'Photos' tab. By default, it opens the 'Moments' section, where photos and videos are organized by actual days.
To view images from even earlier times, click on 'Collections' at the top left.
- Though not as straightforward as the previous Camera Roll, it aids in locating photos more quickly and authentically. For frequent photographers, finding photos by date becomes more straightforward due to the substantial volume of photos each day.
With just the simple steps mentioned above, you can recover those assumed lost photos. Pay a little attention; as iOS evolves, it consistently brings new experiences to users.
