Using Word and Excel Password Recovery Wizard
Step 1: Open Word and Excel Password Recovery Wizard by clicking the desktop icon (if you placed this utility on your desktop during installation). Alternatively, you can search for it in the Search Programs and Files section of the Start Menu.
Step 2: Upon accessing the utility, the Welcome window appears, providing an introduction to the program and the main website address for updating to the latest version whenever the manufacturer releases it.
Also in this window, you can change the language of the utility for easier use.
Click Next
Step 3: In the Select a password protected file: section, click Browser to open a Word or Excel file protected by password recovery.
Click Next
Step 4: In the next window, there are 2 main modes for you to choose from: Dictionary Attack and Brute Force Attack
* Dictionary Attack: This mode is used if you already have a Text file containing passwords of this Word or Excel file along with many passwords of other files.
When selecting this mode, you should check all 4 items in the Recovery options section.
Click Go to start Word and Excel Password Recovery Wizard performing its task.
* Brute Force Attack: Use when you have no idea about the password in the Word or Excel file, meaning there is no password list.
When selecting this mode, there are main options:
- Characters: Narrow down the password search range by selecting the number of words in the password (0-9 characters) or by characters (a-z), search by uppercase or lowercase, special characters...
- From (length): The number of characters that can be in the password.
After setting up, click Next
Click Go to initiate the password retrieval process.
Note: Depending on the length and complexity of the passwords in the Word or Excel files, it will determine the time taken to retrieve the password.
