SE once again fell short against GAM on a day when even the reigning VCS champions didn't perform impressively.
The third week of VCS Spring 2023 marked a highly anticipated matchup between GAM Esports and SBTC Esports. This wasn't just any match; it was a clash between two rivals with a storied history and a large fan base in the Vietnamese League of Legends community. Therefore, both sides set out to achieve the most convincing victory.

The match unfolded as expected, with both SE and GAM showing great effort. In fact, SE took the lead after the first game. However, with the resilience of champions, GAM turned the tables and secured a dramatic 2-1 victory against their formidable opponents.

However, as many in the League of Legends community and numerous experts have observed, SE's losses were more due to their own mistakes than GAM's exceptional performance. Despite having the advantage, SE's players failed to capitalize on it to secure victory. Even former champions like Dia1, Palette, and Slayder struggled against GAM's members. Particularly, Slayder failed to maintain composure in crucial moments (such as the mid-game teamfight in game 3).

As pointed out by SofM, SE's early game strategy in game 3 was solid, focusing resources on Slayder. However, as the game progressed, they failed to maintain composure for more accurate macro plays. Poor rotations and disjointed decision-making were the reasons behind SE losing their advantage and ultimately the entire match to GAM.

To realize their championship dreams, SE continues to add a young, vigorous Marksman to their lineup, alongside a coach renowned for impeccable ban pick strategies in VCS. However, their performance has fallen short of expectations. And it's highly likely that they will sink even deeper in the future if they persist with their current playing style and mentality.
