China's tourism is ready to open its doors to visitors after the Covid-19 pandemic! Stay updated on the latest information regarding the reopening and explore the specific guidelines and instructions for Vietnamese travelers.
China has officially reopened its doors and resumed issuing various visas for international tourists, including tourist visas. This marks a significant step forward in eliminating the 'zero Covid' policy and opens up opportunities to discover this culturally rich country.

Can Vietnamese Citizens Travel to China Yet?
While China has announced the resumption of almost all types of visas for foreigners starting March 15, including tourist visas, sightseeing for Vietnamese citizens is still pending. Currently, Vietnamese tourists can only participate in group tours to China and apply for tourist visas collectively instead of independent travel.

In Hanoi, some visa service companies have provided information that China has started issuing visas for independent Vietnamese tourists. However, the official website of the Embassy has not provided specific instructions for Vietnamese citizens.
Tour companies specializing in organizing travel have confirmed that currently, they can only handle visa applications for customers through group tours, and independent visa applications are not yet possible. This information is based on details from the Chinese Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City, which states that they only accept and process visas for groups traveling in tours.
Organizing Tours to China
News of China's tourism reopening has sparked excitement among travel groups and agencies. They have quickly created attractive tour packages to special destinations such as Kunming, Lijiang, Shangrila, Phoenix Ancient Town, and Zhangjiajie. These tours have attracted the attention of travelers with flexible prices ranging from 8 million to 15 million VND per person.

In reality, not only are there long-distance tours exploring domestic destinations, but also short and enticing tours to areas near the Vietnam border. Many businesses are organizing trips to interesting places such as Lao Cai-Ha Khau (China) or Mong Cai (Quang Ninh)-Dong Hung (China) within 2 days and 1 night, with prices ranging from 2.1 million to 3.5 million VND per person.

Updated Regulations for Traveling to China

Even though nearly 3 years have passed since the Covid-19 pandemic outbreak, China still applies strict policies to prevent the virus when people enter the country. Below are the procedures that travelers must adhere to when visiting China:
- Isolation Requirements: Travelers must adhere to the government-approved 7-day quarantine at a designated location. Afterward, they need to continue isolation for an additional 3 days at their place of residence.
- Health Certification: Before departure, travelers must ensure they have two negative Covid-19 test results, conducted no more than 24 and 48 hours before entering the country.
- Entry Testing: Upon arrival, travelers will have to undergo another Covid-19 test to ensure safety.
- Documentation and Health Declaration: Before departure, travelers must upload test documents and health examination papers within 12 hours on the 'China Health Declaration' website.

The fact that Vietnam cannot travel freely to China, as indicated by the information above, shows the need for patience and accurate updates from reliable sources. Vietnamese travelers can currently only join group tours and must comply with regulations and guidance from the Chinese government and embassy. This may pose limitations and challenges for individual or small group travel plans.
