Redmi K70 confirmed to use powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip

Now, Xiaomi officials have hinted at the integration of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip into the Redmi K70 phones.

Lu Weibing, President of Xiaomi China and General Manager of Redmi, took to Twitter to express admiration for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, calling it the “top darling of 2023” for its outstanding performance and energy efficiency.

He also raised the question of whether the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 could “reproduce the glory of the Snapdragon 870”. Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun agreed with Weibing's viewpoint, stating that “8g2 is indeed the generation of God U, with a good reputation”.

Although both Xiaomi CEOs did not explicitly mention the Redmi K70, the timing of their posts indicates that this smartphone will indeed use Qualcomm's processor as previously indicated.

Last month, Xiaomi officially confirmed that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 will be used inside the Redmi K70 Pro model. Let's stay tuned!
