One of my significant achievements in 2023 has been my successful transition from being a night owl to an early riser, consistently waking up on time every morning. This feat has been largely facilitated by the use of the Samsung Galaxy Watch6.The first point I want to address is the approach to sleep training provided by this watch, which has greatly assisted me in maintaining a more stable circadian rhythm than ever before. Due to the nature of my work, my sleep patterns used to be irregular, impacting my mood, especially in the mornings. However, after making an effort to use the sleep training and monitoring feature, I have developed a habit of waking up on time more consistently. Objectively speaking, based on human behavior studies, if one is determined to perform an action for a sufficient duration, typically 21 days, it becomes a habit. However, the process of establishing and maintaining this habit is not easy. And the solution provided by the Galaxy Watch6 is precise reminders to avoid forgetting during the habit formation process.
At the end of the day, the Galaxy Watch6 sends notifications suggesting deep breathing exercises while listening to pre-set nature sounds from the Calm app. Subsequently, it reminds to limit exposure to blue light from screens, prepare for sleep, etc. Another notable feature is the nighttime sleep mode where sensors under Galaxy Watch6 cease emitting blue light to minimize discomfort in dark bedroom environments. That wraps up a day of training with Galaxy Watch6. Continuing this routine for 21-30 days, waking up early becomes effortless, even without an alarm. After several months, I've maintained a better habit and clearly see the benefits of early morning wake-ups. It not only provides more time for activities but also contributes to a healthier and more energized morning, both physically and mentally. It's more effective, and I'll reveal that recently, I've even maintained the habit of morning exercise from 6 AM to 7 AM - something I never thought possible before.
From another perspective, one could argue that these are all simple matters that everyone knows! I agree that everyone understands the theory that before sleeping for about three or five hours, limiting caffeine, limiting beer, alcohol to be able to easily fall asleep better,... however, we will easily forget those things if we don't pay attention in life, being busy like this. And a device always by our side to remind us still has certain value in the journey of forming that habit.
Adding some other points that I feel when in the process of wearing this watch can be mentioned specifically for the Galaxy Watch6. We will have a total of 4 case size versions and all are very easy to wear, especially for Asian wrists. The 5 previous versions of Galaxy Watch had one point that I couldn't fully like, which is that the lug part was slightly protruding, so when I wore it, it always stuck out, feeling very uncomfortable. However, in this year's generation, the design has been adjusted to hug down, fitting the wrist better, making it look much nicer. And of course, there will certainly be many points that you will hear people talk about when you understand the Galaxy Watch6. For example, the brightness of the screen is capable of connecting seamlessly, very intelligently with the Samsung Health app on the Android platform. Because it uses the Android Wear platform, so, it can work seamlessly with any Android phone very efficiently. There's another point worth mentioning, which many people overlook when discussing the Galaxy Watch6 or smartwatches in general. That's battery life. Let's face it, for those accustomed to traditional watches or even self-winding ones, adapting to the routine of charging can be a hassle. Especially when considering a device that offers more in terms of health features and has the potential to revolutionize long-standing habits.
