1. Refrigeration market 'heats up' with the weather
Major electronics stores like Mytour display a variety of cooling products in different sizes, styles, and types, along with enticing shopping incentive programs.
Mr. Pham Xuan Tung - Head of the air conditioning department at Mytour electronics stores, stated that in May, the sales of air conditioners increased by up to 50% compared to the same period last month. Specifically, during the recent hot weekends, sales increased by 300% compared to previous days.
According to Mr. Pham Xuan Tung, it's noteworthy that during the complex development of the pandemic, there's a significant increase in online and phone shopping trends. In response to this trend, Mytour has rapidly expanded its online shopping services, enhancing staff coordination for order processing and delivery to ensure timely doorstep delivery.
Alongside the increasing demand for air conditioner purchases, the demand for installation, maintenance, and repair services is also heating up day by day. Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung, an HVAC technician, reveals that despite being early in the season, he's already had to work overtime and predicts that the number of customers will continue to rise, potentially leading to overload in the coming period.
'Air conditioning units, if left unused for a long time, are prone to malfunctions, breakdowns, and simple issues, most commonly gas depletion. The maintenance process usually involves gas refills, machine cleaning, and repairing various components. It's typically during the hot season that customers turn to maintenance services. Therefore, during the early days of summer or during intense heatwaves, we're unable to keep up with the workload,' explains Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung.
Currently, the price for air conditioner maintenance is around 180,000 to 200,000 Vietnamese dong per unit for individual machines; prices are lower for companies, factories, and offices with a large number of units. This cost does not include repair fees or the replacement of components if necessary.
The air conditioner market is becoming increasingly diverse in terms of types, prices, along with various offers and promotions for customers to choose suitable products. However, according to official distributors' recommendations, consumers should research and purchase genuine products from reputable stores and supermarkets to ensure quality and benefit from the best customer care and warranty policies.
