In the past, when applying for an ID card (CMND) or citizen card (CCCD), you had to visit the local authority in your residence area. However, with the introduction of online ID card registration at home, all you need is a smartphone, computer, or tablet with internet connectivity to register for your national ID card without waiting or queuing.
Renewing a lost ID card, quick and easy online renewal at home
Note: Online registration for national ID cards and citizen cards is currently only available in Ho Chi Minh City. For other areas, we will provide guidance when there are updates.
How to register for national ID card online at home
To register for a home-based citizen card (ID card), follow these steps:
Step 1: Visit the online public service page at the link Here. Then click on the Issue Citizen Card option on the screen interface.
Step 2: The browser will take you to the Enter Citizen Card Declaration (Electronic Declaration Form) window as illustrated below.
Under 'Citizen's Card Request', choose one of the following update forms:
- Issue CCCD: For individuals without an ID card and citizen card.
- Change CCCD: For individuals with an expired CCCD.
- Reissue CCCD: For individuals with a lost CCCD.
- Issue new from 9-digit ID card to CCCD: For individuals wanting to change their 9-digit ID card to CCCD.
- Issue new from 12-digit ID card to CCCD: For individuals wanting to change their 12-digit ID card to CCCD.
In this example, Mytour chooses the option to Issue CCCD.
Step 3: Fill in all required information accurately and completely, including:
- Basic information: Full name, ID card number, Date of birth, ...
Step 4: In the Citizen's Request section, you can choose Yes or No for each option.
- Confirm ID Number: Select Yes if you want a new confirmation document for the updated ID card/citizen card for future documentation convenience.
- Delivery by postal service: Select Yes if you want to receive the new ID card/citizen card through postal service.
- Phone number: Enter the phone number you are currently using for easy communication with the ID card/citizen card issuing authority.
- Submission location: Choose the place where you reside.
- Submission date: Choose the date to submit the citizen card application.
Step 5: Enter the 5 characters provided by the system into the Verification Code field. Then check the box for I take legal responsibility for the statement and click Check Information.
Step 6: Finally, choose Confirm and Save Declaration and print it out. On the chosen appointment date, submit the documents and relevant records to the ID card/citizen card issuing authority. If you need to edit the information, click on the Edit Declaration button.
Note: When visiting the authorized agency for ID card/citizen card issuance, remember to bring all necessary documents, including the old ID card (if available), the printed declaration form, and the household registration book.
