Executing motion effects in PowerPoint is a fundamental and necessary action for users working on PowerPoint presentations. For each topic in a presentation, users choose different effects that best complement the content being created. Guide to Remove Animation Effects in PowerPoint
In this article, we'll demonstrate how to remove animation effects on PowerPoint 2019 slides. For older versions like PowerPoint 2016, 2013, 2010, you can perform a similar process.
1. Removing PowerPoint Motion Effects
Step 1: First, open the PowerPoint file containing motion effects. If the file has slides with motion effects, you'll see a star icon as shown below. Select the slide you want to remove motion effects from.
Step 2: After that, click on the Animations tab, then select the content object on the slide that you want to remove animation effects from. This could be an image, text content, or a frame.
Next, click on None on the animation toolbar below to delete the animation effects you applied.
If you don't see the None option, it might be obscured due to multiple effects. Simply click the triangle icon to expand the effects panel on the slide. You'll then spot the None option.
After selecting None, the chosen objects will immediately lose their animation effects. If you wish to remove effects from multiple objects on the Slide -> press Ctrl and click on those objects -> then, also click on None to remove them.
Step 3: To remove effects on an entire presentation slide, press Ctrl + A to select the entire slide. Then, go to the Animations tab and click on None to eliminate the applied effects on the selected slide.
For other slides, if you wish to remove effects, follow the same steps to delete all motion effects on those slides.
As a result, you'll successfully delete all the created effects. You'll notice the first slide no longer has the star icon as shown in the image below.
2. How to Disable PowerPoint Animation Effects
When you delete, the effects won't display on the slide, and naturally, that slide won't have any effects. However, disabling motion effects means turning them off only during the presentation, and when you switch back to editing mode on the slide, these effects still remain.
Step 1: On a PowerPoint slide with motion effects, click on the Slide Show tab, then choose Set Up Slide Show as shown below:
Step 2: In the Set Up Show interface, look down to the Show options section. Check the Show without animations option (present the slideshow without using animation effects) -> and click OK to save.
You'll still see the star icon on the slide. However, since you've chosen the mode without animation effects during the presentation, when users present the slideshow, the previously created motion effects won't be used.
To review PowerPoint slides with motion effects during a presentation, simply uncheck the Show without animations option.
