The design of the Log On screen on Windows 8 isn't always user-friendly, sometimes causing inconvenience for users. So, is it possible to remove this startup screen?
The answer to the above question is yes, you can remove the startup screen on Windows 8, and it's quite simple with a few Registry operations.
How to Remove the Log On Screen on Win 8 using Registry
Step 1: Press the Windows + R key combination to open the Run dialog box.
Alternatively, press the Windows key and type regedit to open the Run dialog box.
Step 2: Then press Enter and select the Personalization key following the path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Personalization.
If you can't find Personalization, don't worry! You can create it by right-clicking on the Windows key, selecting New->Key, and naming it Personalization.
Step 3: Right-click on Personalization, select New -> DWORD , and name it NoLockScreen.
Step 4: Double-click on NoLockScreen and change the value from 0 to 1.
Note: If you want to revert to the Log On screen, you can reset the value for NoLockScreen to 0.
