A prominent North American female streamer has just announced her intention to play League of Legends again, causing a stir in the community.
When discussing the streamer community in the LCS region, many now think of well-known names like Tyler1 or Cowsep. These are among the few streamers still closely associated with Riot's game. However, the allure of League of Legends is waning, especially in its 'home turf.' Notably, LCS is one of the areas where hardly any female streamers are active or have established a reputation. Former figures like Pokimane have left League of Legends, while newcomers struggle to gain popularity and often resort to more enticing content.

This is unavoidable as League of Legends in the North American region has long been impoverished in terms of achievements and appeal. Here, there is hardly a name that guarantees the tournament's appeal. Rarely is there Doublelift, but he is also older now and not playing as well as before. Moreover, mentioning LCS now, perhaps Sneaky's cosplays leave a more lasting impression on the audience. Not to mention, Team SoloMid, the region's most prestigious team, has just officially parted ways with professional League of Legends after the end of the Summer Split.

Not only the audience but even streamers and KOLs in North America are not enthusiastic about League of Legends. However, recently, LCS fans were thrilled when Pokimane tweeted hinting at a return to League of Legends. Naturally, the post from the renowned female streamer quickly caught the attention of players and influencers in the region. Previously, Pokimane had a long history with League of Legends. But after the game lost its appeal, and Pokimane's own fame grew, she focused on other options to attract her audience.

The only caveat is, underneath Pokimane's post, many joked that she should not return to League of Legends. Or if she does, she should only play ARAM or have a team to play with for fun and entertainment purposes.

Certainly, Pokimane's return is just one individual. However, if other streamers and KOLs of her caliber also bring attention back to League of Legends, it could potentially reignite interest in this game within the LCS community. Yet, whether they will remain committed in the long term is a question worth considering, and only time can provide the answer.
