1. Retelling the story of The Little Mermaid, integrating descriptions of the characters' appearances, sample 1:
Once upon a time, in a village, there was a poor old woman who made a living by catching crabs and snails. Her brown patched dress was very old, with many pieces sewn together, barely keeping her warm on cold days.
One day, the old woman caught a snail that was different from the usual ones, its shell was a beautiful shade of blue. Intrigued, she didn't sell it but instead released it into the water to raise. The next noon, returning home, she was surprised to see the yard and house had been cleaned; the meal was neatly arranged. The pigs in the pen were well-fed, lying lazily. Outside the garden, several clean and green vegetable beds gleamed freshly watered. That night, the old woman lay awake, unable to sleep. She vowed to find the person who had helped her.
The cock crowed loudly in the village. The old lady got up, tied the basket across her back, put on her hat, and hurried to the fields to catch crabs and shrimps. By noon, she quietly returned, hiding behind the banana bushes in the garden, watching carefully. Suddenly, from the water tank, a fairy in silk clothes gracefully stepped out and walked into the kitchen. The old lady quickly grabbed a shell, smashing it to prevent the fairy from hiding inside anymore. Hearing the noise, the snail fairy turned around startled. The old lady joyfully took her hand:
- Oh! So you've helped this poor old lady, haven't you? I thank you!
The snail fairy awkwardly replied:
- Yes! Madam, I wish to repay your kindness for saving my life!
The old lady chuckled:
- Oh come on, what significant kindness! From now on, stay here with me. Shall we be family, day and night, my dear?
The snail fairy nodded shyly, her eyes sparkling, her cheeks blushing beautifully. So from then on, they lived together under the humble thatched roof, caring for each other wholeheartedly. The old lady's old age passed in happy and warm days.

Once upon a time, in a village, there was an old lady living alone in a small house. She was old and weak, unable to till the land and had no children or grandchildren to support her, so her life was very poor and difficult. She only had one set of old, faded black clothes, with patches on the shoulders. Her emaciated figure, hunched back from years of toil, slow gait, and careworn face garnered sympathy from everyone who saw her. Nevertheless, every day, she still had to go to the fields to catch crabs and snails to make a living. Seeing the old lady's frailty, the villagers occasionally helped her with some chores, but they couldn't always take care of her. Therefore, she often lived in solitude.
One day, while catching shrimps and crabs, the old lady happened to catch a very beautiful snail. Its shell was a bright shade of blue, sparkling under the sunlight. Seeing the beautiful snail, she couldn't bear to sell it, so she brought it home and released it in a water tank outside her yard.
Strangely, from that day on, every time she returned from work, she found her house clean, tidy, and well-kept, the garden well-tended, and the pigs and chickens well-fed. Especially, there was always a meal prepared on the table. Initially, she thought her neighbors pitied her old age and loneliness, so they came to help. But when she found out it wasn't the case, she decided to find out who was secretly helping her.
One day, the old lady pretended to go to work as usual. But halfway there, she turned back, finding a secluded spot to watch... After waiting for a while, she finally saw a young girl, around eighteen or twenty, beautiful like a fairy emerging from the water tank. She had a round, kind face like the full moon, black sparkling eyes, and a small, rosy mouth, very cute. Her beauty was enhanced by the beautiful and soft blue dress she wore. The fairy gently entered the house and started sweeping, cleaning, and feeding the animals... The old lady was extremely surprised.
Realizing this fairy emerged from the snail's shell, quietly she approached the water tank, took the snail shell, and smashed it into pieces. Because she didn't want the girl to disappear into the shell, she wanted her to live with her. Hearing the noise, the girl hurried to the water tank to hide inside the shell, but it was too late. Before the girl could recover from her surprise, the old lady convinced her to stay with her. And since then, the old lady lived happily with her beautiful and obedient daughter. Truly, heaven pities people. The old lady lived a virtuous and kind life, so she was blessed.

4. Retell the story of The Little Mermaid, incorporating descriptions of the characters' appearances, sample 4:
Once upon a time, there was a kind, poor old lady who lived alone with no children or grandchildren to lean on. She had wrinkled skin, a bent back from years of toil, and clothes patched here and there. Every day, she ventured into the fields to catch crabs and snails to make ends meet.
One day, while digging her hands into the mud, she caught a tiny snail. The snail had a silver-blue shell that sparkled under the sun. Many people wanted to buy the beautiful snail, but the old lady felt a sudden fondness for it and decided not to sell. Instead, she released the snail into a water tank in her courtyard. The next day, she went back to the fields to catch crabs and snails. In the evening, when she returned home, she found a strange scene: the courtyard was spotless, the grass had been neatly trimmed, the pigs in the pen were well-fed and asleep. Inside the house, a delicious meal was prepared. Perplexed, she searched for the one who had helped her. At dawn, she set out to the fields with her basket, but halfway there, she sneaked back and hid in the bushes near her house, silently watching. The courtyard remained peaceful and quiet until suddenly, a young girl emerged from the water tank. She had an oval face, fair complexion, and lips as red as cherries. Her black hair cascaded around her head. She wore a shiny blue dress like the color of the snail shell. The fairy in the blue dress moved gracefully, tidying up, cooking, feeding the pigs with ease and swiftness. The old lady stared at her in awe. The sunlight shining on the fairy's dress, sparkling like the snail shell, jolted the old lady. She cautiously approached the water tank, smashed the blue snail shell, preventing the fairy from hiding inside. The old lady took the fairy's hand, earnestly saying:
- Old lady has no one to rely on. Be my daughter!
From then on, the two lived together, caring for each other, never apart.
