View and Change Your Wifi Password
When you modify the wifi password on the Modem, the previously saved password on your computer becomes invalid. You need to update the password on your computer to match the one on your Modem.
To accomplish this, follow these steps:
Step 1: Right-click on the wifi network you are using and select Status.
- A new window will appear, and here, you'll find the details of the current Wifi network. To view and change the password, follow these steps.
Step 2: Click on Wireless Properties.
- The Wireless Network Properties window opens. Navigate to the Security tab right next to it.
- Then, check the box next to “Show characters”.
At this point, in the Network security key section, the current password for your Wifi network will be visible. To make changes, erase the existing one and enter the new Wifi password you've set on the Modem (note that the password here and on the Modem must match for successful access). Once done, click OK to finish.
With these steps, users can easily manage Wifi passwords on Windows 8/8. It's advisable to also update the Wifi network password on your Modem to prevent unauthorized usage.
