Universal Pictures has announced a set of posters for the film Minions: The Rise of Gru, uncovering a new character with a sensational 'profile' that's causing a buzz.
After the massively successful billion-dollar film in 2015, the MINIONS brand officially makes a captivating return with a highly intriguing storyline set in the vibrant 70s. Recently, Universal Pictures unveiled posters for the film, exposing a new character with a 'profile' that's making waves.
Meet young Gru in the colorful 70s
The timeline in the world of 'Minions: The Rise of Gru' transports the audience back to the 70s, where a 12-year-old Gru nurtures the dream of becoming a... villain and is a devoted fan of the notorious Vicious 6 - a legendary group of villains. After Vicious 6 ousts their former leader Wild Knuckles, Gru decides to apply but faces rejection. However, Vicious 6 swiftly pursues Gru after he and the Minions steal a mysterious gem from them.

The renowned star Steve Carell will voice the 12-year-old Gru, who is also the main character of this MINIONS film. Additionally, the film features a stellar cast including Dương Tử Quỳnh, Taraji P. Henson, Julie Andrews, Jean-Claude Van Damme, and more. Furthermore, Pierre Coffin, co-director of the three Despicable Me films, will return to voice the Minions, promising entertaining and thrilling adventures.
Playful character posters unveil the Minions' fresh appearances
To countdown to the official premiere, the Universal Pictures team has released a series of vibrant posters with a strong 70s vibe for 'Minions: The Rise of Gru'. In the collective poster, the Minion trio - Kevin, Bob, and Stuart - transform into era-appropriate figures, sporting monochromatic workout outfits from head to toe and carrying a large boombox blasting lively tunes.
The familiar faces of the Minion trio appear quite serious, but this seriousness becomes a humorous element, showcasing the adorable antics of these yellow, lovable mischief-makers.

Returning this time alongside the well-known trio of Kevin, Stuart, and Bob is a brand-new character - Otto. Otto is a two-eyed Minion with a 'plump' physique, small and round. What sets Otto apart from other Minions is that he wears braces. Undoubtedly, this new member in the Minion family will bring many laughter-filled segments to 'Minions: The Rise of Gru.'

The director of this film is none other than Kyle Balda, the creative mind behind Minions (2015) and Despicable Me 3 (2017). Alongside the familiar creative and production team, 'Minions: The Rise of Gru' promises to create a yellow storm in cinemas worldwide.
'Minions: The Rise of Gru' officially starts screening on July 1, 2022.
