Recently, LEC's BLV Caedrel disclosed surprising anecdotes about these postponements. Specifically, the LMHT client's poor quality is a direct cause of match delays. Furthermore, for a smooth start, players themselves need a bit of luck.
“Let me explain to you why LEC matches are postponed so frequently. There's an issue with the LMHT client that prevents it from saving rune pages and player settings. Moreover, when changing teams, there's a 50% chance that the player will be kicked out of the game” - BLV Caedrel shares.
The quality of the LMHT client has long been notoriously low. However, the failure to meet basic features like saving rune pages and player masteries is hard to accept. Moreover, this is occurring on the competitive server, something that shouldn't happen.
What Riot needs to do right now is find a way to swiftly fix the LMHT client. Hopefully, in the upcoming weeks of LEC in particular, and LMHT tournaments in general, this constant postponement issue will no longer persist.
