Each laptop model may have different procedures, but essentially, drivers dedicated to touchpad already have this function. In this article, Mytour will guide you through the steps for some common models such as ASUS and Lenovo. For other models, you can follow similar steps.
Lenovo Laptop
Step 1: Press the Windows + I key combination to open the Setting App, then select Device
Step 2: Choose the Touchpad section, click on Additional Settings
Step 3: Click on the ELAN tab, some other models might have ClickPad...
Step 4: In the Device list, select the correct Touchpad for your machine, then choose Option
Step 5: Choose the Multi-finger tab, click on Scrolling (for other laptop models, you should also look for the Multi-finger section to find the Scroll option)
Step 6: Check the Reverse box, then click OK
Step 7: Double-check your Touchpad to see if the mouse scroll direction has been reversed
ASUS Laptop
For ASUS, the touchpad driver has been separated into a standalone management software. You can find this software at the corner of the screen, represented by the touchpad icon
Step 1: Double-click the icon to open the main interface of the software
Step 2: Locate the Scroll option under Two Fingers, check the box for Content moves reversely with your finger’s direction
For other laptop models, you can follow similar steps
For the scroll bar on the mouse
Step 1: Click Start, type Device Manager to open the Device Manager feature
Step 2: In the list of drivers on your machine, find the Mice and other pointing devices section, double-click on the external mouse device. In my example, it will be HID-compliant mouse
Step 3: Select the Detail tab, in the Property list, choose Device istance path, make a note of the number after HID
Step 4 : Press the key combination Windows + R to open the Run window, type the command regedit, and click OK
Step 5 : In the Registry Editor window, navigate to the path HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\HID
Step 6 : Look within the path for the key with a name similar to the HID of the mouse noted in step 3
Step 7 : Open the subkeys in the found folder, click on Device Parameters
Step 8 : In the right-hand category, locate the key FlipFlopWheel, double-click to open, change the value from 0 to 1. Then click OK.
Restart your computer, and the mouse scroll direction will be reversed.
