Design, Fit, and Battery Life of Anker SoundCore Life P3 Headphones
Available in bright red, light navy blue, white, black, and a tested deep navy version, Soundcore Life P3 looks like a true Soundcore product. The brand has proven itself with high-quality products like Liberty 2 Pro, Liberty Air 2, and Liberty Air 2 Pro, and here, the charging case feels quite sturdy and the lid doesn't immediately snap shut with the lightest shake. There are three LED lights on the front to indicate remaining case charge, and it supports USB-C and wireless charging.
The case can fully charge the earbuds 5 times, providing them with up to 7 hours of playtime with just one charge. That's a solid score for active noise-cancelling earbuds and plenty of fruit juice for daily average use.
The earbuds themselves look quite cheerful. The body and top are made of glossy plastic with brighter, even faces. On the outside, there's a layer of black coating with another matte layer on top. These earbuds are quite comfortable, with oval-shaped parts sinking into your ears and providing a snug, comfortable fit – more so than the expensive and bulky Liberty Air 2 Pro. They sit tight enough for running and workouts – further supported by the IPX5 water resistance rating, meaning they can withstand rain and sweat.
Control – Connection
Soundcore Life P3 boasts excellent connectivity. The earbuds pair and connect quickly once you open the case and maintain a strong Bluetooth connection up to 9-10 meters from your device. Connection and sound dropouts are very rare, and you can switch between listening with one or both earbuds at any time. Music doesn't automatically pause when you remove them.
Standard controls are very simple and convenient:
- Double-tap R to play/pause music
- Double-tap L to skip to the next track
- Press and hold L or R to switch between ANC noise cancellation mode, (Transparent mode), and ANC off
While this may not be like many others, you can also customize all controls and add touch commands for a single press on both sides – so, you can also add full music controls, volume controls, and voice assistant control. However, you cannot activate Gaming mode from the earbuds. The earbuds also respond quickly to a single tap so you can trigger an action right now and after. However – the control options are quite prominent.
How is the noise cancellation of Anker SoundCore Life P3?
Soundcore Life P3 features active noise cancellation (ANC) function and standard ANC off. With this app, you can also add Transparent mode to your controls. Switching between functions is confirmed by beeps.
- ANC Mode: You can switch between three active noise cancellation modes from the app, but Traffic, Indoor, and Outdoor are quite similar in most cases. They reduce many quieter background sounds to the point of inaudibility. Other nearby sounds like keyboard typing and climate control systems are also reduced in volume. Similarly for traffic (distant), although you can still hear trains and scooters passing by. Nearby voices are quite clear when you're not listening to music, but ANC in all three of its settings is convenient enough to provide a peaceful feeling to your head.
- Transparent Mode: Transparent mode, which you can activate to hear the sounds around you, also has two settings: focus on voices or all surrounding effects. With the latter, you can hear and identify traffic around you while you're listening to music at a moderate volume. Impressive.
With all the functions and their effectiveness, Soundcore Life P3 overall has ANC performance worthy of the money spent.
Sound Quality of SoundCore Life P3
If you've been following Soundcore headphone models, you'll know they have a lot of bass. After Liberty Neo, Life P2, Liberty Air 2, Liberty 2 Pro, Spirit Dot 2, Life A1, and Liberty Air 2 Pro, Soundcore Life P3 is no exception.
Even with Bass Booster turned off in the app, Life P3 still has plenty of mid-bass. The electronic thumps and drums hit hard and attack quickly, though that's easily monitored by the cause of the rumbling bass. Each strike is prolonged, and the bass easily transitions into lower mid-range to blend into the fun. Although the sub-bass [the lowest bass you can feel most] doesn't sound very deep, there's plenty of weight in the lower tones of these headphones – as well as when you're playing music at a lower volume.
However, unlike some previous models like Life A1 or Spirit Dot 2, P3 doesn't just appeal to bass enthusiasts. Soundcore has higher frequencies here – they sound more natural than Liberty 2 Pro and less sharp than Liberty Air 2, for example.
From low male vocals to high female vocals: they play a prominent role in music without overshadowing the song and other instruments. They achieve a good balance between depth and smoothness and reach higher notes as easily as lower ones. The vocals are bright enough, but rarely sharp or thin.
Furthermore, vocals also take center stage in the music – meaning they often come out in front of you. Much better than most Soundcores, Life P3 places instruments beside you. Although the soundstage isn't very wide, it's clear that drums can come from your left, while guitars appear more on your right.
Conclusion
With excellent battery life, appealing call quality, enticing sound, and a variety of options, Soundcore Life P3 could be the complete wireless ANC earphones under $100 (equivalent to about 2.3 million VND).
