Premium Design
The headphones also look stunning and undeniably competitive. The primary color is black, and the entire build is crafted from ultra-lightweight aluminum. You can find the Corsair logo on both ear cups and, as expected, it's fully customizable via the iCue software.
Below, we found various ways to operate or connect the headphones on each side. On the right, you'll find features such as the volume slider, a button to toggle between wireless and USB, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a microphone connection. Below that microphone port, you'll find a mute button. Is your microphone muted? Then it will automatically activate when you answer a call.
The Virtuoso RGB Wireless XT fits snugly and comfortably on your head, no matter how long you game. The ear cups feature comfortable memory foam that's easy on the ears while also allowing good airflow, so sweat will accumulate less quickly. The headband is soft and adjustable in increments, so you don't have to readjust every time you take it off. It comes with a quality magnetic flap pouch to store your headphones.
Versatile Connectivity
Regarding connectivity, there are four connection options available, split between wired and wireless. You can choose the 3.5mm headphone jack, USB-C, the 2.5Hz dongle, or Bluetooth. The Virtuoso RGB Wireless XT also supports dual connections via dongle and Bluetooth, allowing you to game on PC or PlayStation 5 while simultaneously chatting on your phone, such as through Discord.
Of course, all these connectivity options are a plus, but they're nothing compared to the excellent audio quality that the XT delivers during gaming or music listening sessions. This is thanks to the neodymium 50mm drivers with a wide frequency range from 20Hz to 40,000Khz. Dolby Atmos is supported, and of course, you also have a detachable 9.5mm omnidirectional microphone. The headset might not be perfect, but it's a highly impressive audio device.
Premium Sound for Gamers and Music Enthusiasts
In terms of sound, the Virtuoso RGB Wireless XT impresses greatly during gaming. Whether you're playing on PC or PlayStation. In competitive games like Call of Duty, for instance, the headset provides a clear competitive edge. Everything sounds crystal clear, from footsteps to ambient noise and communication cues. The microphone is also extremely clear. Even those who prefer single-player experiences will be pleased. Just think of Cyberpunk 2077, Resident Evil Village, or the latest Ratchet & Clank, all benefit from the immersive sound experience. On PC, you can also opt for Dolby Atmos support to elevate everything to a higher level, but you'll have to pay 15 euros once within the Atmos app.
The Virtuoso RGB Wireless XT also works wonderfully with high-fidelity music streaming services like Tidal, offering 40KHz for a unique listening experience. If you want to fine-tune things yourself, you can do so through iCue.
Pros and Cons
A minor observation we have about the Virtuoso RGB Wireless XT is the range of the 2.5Ghz dongle, which sometimes seems to vanish when we're brewing coffee in the kitchen. However, with a few walls in between and during gameplay itself, the connection is flawless. The headphone's battery life is about 20 hours, although the RGB lighting system and dual connectivity may reduce usage time by about five hours. That's certainly not a dealbreaker, although we'd like to see a bit more.
Should You Buy the Corsair Virtuoso Wireless RGB XT Headset?
All in all, we're highly enthusiastic about the Corsair Virtuoso RGB Wireless XT. The design is top-notch, and the audio performance perfectly matches it. You'll need a decent budget for it, but those who spend long days in front of a PC or PlayStation (and preferably both) will definitely not regret the investment. You can also use the headset while working to listen to high-quality music.
