Google recently unveiled its second-generation smartphone using its Tensor chip - the Google Pixel 7, priced at $529, approximately 13 million VND, attracting a lot of attention from users.
With its features, is this a good choice for your needs? Let's find out.

1. Reviewing the Google Pixel 7's design
The Pixel 7 doesn't differ much from its predecessor, except for the main camera cluster, which now uses aluminum instead of glass. The color of the cluster matches the frame, while the upper back is the same color as the lower part, breaking away from the all-black design of its predecessor.
The device is also finished with a matte surface providing a firm grip, fingerprint-resistant while maintaining a stylish exterior. Both the back and front of the phone utilize the highest-grade Gorilla Glass Victus, with an aluminum alloy frame, and the best IP68 water resistance standard today.
The Pixel 7 phone features a borderless screen with ultra-thin edges, the front camera embedded in the screen provides a comfortable usage space, minimizing screen interference compared to curved designs.
With overall dimensions of 155.6 x 73.2 x 8.7 mm, and a weight of 197 grams, the device is both ergonomic and comfortable for prolonged use. Overall, in terms of design, we highly appreciate the user-friendliness and durability of the Google Pixel 7.

2. Reviewing the Google Pixel 7's screen quality
The Pixel 7 phone uses a 6.3-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, 416ppi pixel density providing good detail display, vibrant colors with support for sRGB, DCI-P3 color gamuts... The maximum brightness of the screen up to 1400 nits also helps display clear images even in direct sunlight conditions. In addition, the Pixel 7 screen also supports HDR10+ technology, HLG standard, improving the reproduction of content from video platforms.
Unfortunately, the Pixel 7 is only equipped with a 90Hz screen refresh rate instead of 120Hz like many other phones in the same price range. However, if you have used a Pixel, you will find that the device always achieves extremely impressive smoothness thanks to the use of the native Android operating system, without customization like other Android phones.
Hence, regarding the display, we can assess Google Pixel as excellent for both viewing and usability.

3. Evaluating the performance configuration of Google Pixel 7
Pixel 7 utilizes the Tensor G2 chip produced by Google on a 5nm process with 8 cores (2×2.85 GHz Cortex-X1 & 2×2.35 GHz Cortex-A78 & 4×1.80 GHz Cortex-A55), accompanied by the Mali-G710 MC10 GPU.
The device is also equipped with 8GB RAM with internal storage options of 128GB or 256GB. Most notably, the Google Pixel 7 comes pre-installed with the Android 13 native operating system, making it the first phone on the market equipped with the Android 13 OS, optimizing hardware performance and introducing many exciting new features.
Despite software optimization, Google Pixel 7 still doesn't excel in performance compared to flagship Android devices using the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 or Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipsets.
On Geekbench 5, Google Pixel 7 achieves single-core and multi-core scores of 1051 and 3288 respectively. For comparison, the Galaxy S22 (with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip) scores 1171 and 3682 for single-core and multi-core respectively. Additionally, Google Pixel 7 scores 813,114 on Antutu 9 and 59fps on GFX Car Chase ES 3.1 (onscreen).
Despite its lower performance compared to flagship models, the price of the Google Pixel 7 is nearly $200 cheaper than the Galaxy S22, which is acceptable. Moreover, with the native operating system, the Google Pixel 7 performs smoothly and is not inferior to other flagships in heavy mobile gaming.

4. Assessing the camera quality on Google Pixel 7
The Google Pixel 7 phone is equipped with a dual main camera setup including sensors:
- Main camera 50 MP, f/1.9 aperture, 25mm (wide), 1/1.31″, 1.2µm, multi-directional PDAF, Laser AF, with optical image stabilization OIS
- Ultra-wide camera 12 MP, f/2.2 aperture, 114˚ (ultrawide), 1/2.9″, 1.25µm
Along with that is the front camera 10.8 MP, f/2.2, 21mm (ultrawide), 1/3.1″, 1.22µm.
With this camera setup, Google Pixel 7 delivers impressive photo and video quality, currently ranked 5th on the market by DXOmark with 140 points. Thus, the photo quality of Google Pixel 7 is even better than that of the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra - Samsung's best camera phone in 2022.
5. Evaluating the battery and charging technology of Google Pixel 7
The Google Pixel 7 phone is equipped with a 4355 mAh battery, sufficient for users' daily usage needs, but not comfortable for extended use throughout the day. The device is also only equipped with 30W fast charging technology, providing 50% battery capacity in 30 minutes of charging.
CONCLUSION: Is Google Pixel 7 worth the money?
From the above evaluations of Google Pixel 7, it can be seen that it is one of the best choices, especially in terms of photography capabilities and processing performance in its price range. However, the weakness of the device lies in its battery life.
Additionally, another weakness of Google Pixel 7 is that it is not officially distributed in Vietnam. Therefore, buyers are forced to choose parallel-imported goods, and official warranty programs are not guaranteed.
However, according to the general reviews of Pixel users, Google phones are very durable. Therefore, if your top priority when buying a smartphone is excellent photography and smooth, stable performance, then Google Pixel 7 is undoubtedly an excellent choice right now.
