Lenovo Thinkbook 13S is a mid-range business laptop. It boasts a compact and flexible design with high performance. It is a product trusted and chosen by many to meet their work and study needs. Check out more information in the article below to see if this product is worth owning.
Design of Lenovo Thinkbook 13S
Thinkbook 13S is a silver-gray laptop. Its body is made of premium aluminum-magnesium alloy. This design provides a luxurious and modern feel. Additionally, this material offers high durability, heat resistance, moisture resistance, dust resistance, and strong impact resistance.
The laptop weighs about 1.34 kg and has a maximum thickness of 15.9mm. With these dimensions, it feels easy to hold with one hand. Although the design is quite thin and light, it remains unbent even under considerable force.
One thing I dislike about this laptop is the extremely tight hinge. I can't open the screen with one hand, causing some inconvenience during use.
The laptop is equipped with 2 USB Type-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports, 1 ThunderBolt 4 supported USB-C port with PD charging, 1 3.5mm headphone jack, and 1 HDMI 2.0 port. However, the limitation is that the laptop does not have a memory card slot.
The ThinkBook 13S screen quality is sufficient.
The screen of the laptop is 13.3 inches with a full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The IPS panel offers wide viewing angles, NTSC 72% color gamut coverage, and is supported by Dolby Vision HDR technology. What disappoints me about the ThinkBook 13S screen is that while the two side bezels are thin, the bottom bezel is very thick.
With this screen, the experience of editing photos, videos, and entertainment is decent. You should use the laptop indoors or in shade rather than in direct sunlight.
The keyboard and touchpad are of good quality.
Lenovo always knows how to please with the keyboard and trackpad controls. The keyboard is designed in a mini-size style. The keys are large, with medium key travel for a gentle typing experience.
The laptop's touchpad has a large surface area and is equipped with Microsoft Precision for smooth, fast, and precise operation. The highlight of the trackpad is the chrome-trimmed border, which makes it even more eye-catching. In my opinion, there's nothing to criticize about the keyboard and trackpad of this 13S model.
Powerful performance, capable of handling heavy tasks
ThinkBook 13S comes in two versions for users to choose from: the Intel Core i7 CPU and the Intel Core i5-8265U CPU.
With the Intel Core i5-8265U CPU version, 8GB of RAM. When you have 20 Google Chrome tabs open and multiple YouTube videos playing simultaneously, there's no decrease in speed or video quality. The 256GB PCIe SSD provides fast copying speeds. For example, copying a 4.97GB media file takes 13.5 seconds with a transfer speed of 376.9 megabytes/second.
The Intel Core i7 CPU version can help you handle all tasks with ease. The laptop can handle everything from office software to heavy applications like Photoshop and Lightroom.
Additionally, the 13S is integrated with Intel UHD Graphics 620 GPU. With this graphics card, you cannot play any AAA games on this machine. However, it still provides good support for 2D graphic design applications.
Lenovo ThinkBook 13S is a modernly designed machine with powerful performance. If you need a computer with good performance for the price. Or you need a business laptop at a reasonable price, then choose this laptop right away. But if you need a workstation, then skip this one.
