MSI GF63 Thin 11UC features a minimalist design yet exudes gaming vibes
Overall, the MSI GF63 Thin 11UC boasts a slightly more understated appearance compared to many other gaming laptops I've used. Nevertheless, the device still retains the large, robust design typical of a gaming laptop, with dimensions of 359 x 254 x 21.7 mm and weighing approximately 1.86 kg, making it a reasonable size to slip into a backpack and take with you for work anywhere, anytime.

Crafted from premium plastic like many other gaming devices in the same price range, the MSI GF63 Thin 11UC boasts relatively good build quality, without feeling too flimsy when I press firmly in the middle of the keyboard or give it a gentle shake. Additionally, the A surface of the device is made simple with a textured finish, providing a certain level of grip to enhance handling. The standout feature on the A surface is still the familiar dragon logo of MSI, serving as the sole distinctive highlight for easy identification by users.

Moving on to the edges, the MSI GF63 Thin 11UC is equipped with a full array of connectivity ports for you to connect peripherals such as a mouse, keyboard, external monitor, and more. Specifically, on the left side of the machine, there is a charging port and one USB-A 3.2 port; meanwhile, on the right side, there is one LAN RJ45 port, two USB-A 3.2 ports, one USB-C 3.2 port, and a pair of headphone/microphone combo jacks. For a casual gamer like me, the number of connectivity ports available is more than enough for everyday use.

Inside, the wrist rest area of the MSI GF63 Thin 11UC is also designed with a similar textured finish as the A surface, featuring a compact TKL keyboard system with integrated red backlighting underneath for convenient use in low-light environments. In terms of typing experience, after using it for a while, I find that the MSI GF63 Thin 11UC provides a good typing experience with sufficient key travel and good bounce for a smooth typing feel when working or even gaming.

Additionally, the mouse pad of the MSI GF63 Thin 11UC is of moderate size, finished with a textured surface for smooth swiping without causing hand fatigue. With this size, even though I have large hands, I can still easily operate it with two or three fingers at the same time comfortably. The accuracy and sensitivity of the mouse pad are also excellent, resulting in very fast screen response times.

First up is FIFA Online 4, this simple game runs smoothly on the MSI GF63 Thin 11UC with frame rates ranging from 130 to 145 FPS (at maximum graphics settings). I can execute key combinations and skills with quick response times, which looks very pleasing. Combined with smooth, vibrant visuals, the gaming experience is fantastic.

Next up is the national MOBA game League of Legends, where even at the highest graphics settings, the MSI GF63 Thin 11UC handles it effortlessly with frame rates ranging from 172 to 188 FPS. Rare frame drops during intense battles allow for seamless display of complex effects.

Lastly, Assassin's Creed Syndicate, an open-world game that I particularly enjoy due to its stunning graphics and expansive map system. Although I set the graphics to the highest level the MSI GF63 Thin 11UC could handle, overall, the game still runs relatively smoothly with frame rates fluctuating from 68 to 85 FPS.
Overall, the MSI GF63 Thin 11UC can still meet the gaming needs of today's users without too much difficulty. Even with heavier titles like Devil May Cry 5, CyberPunk 2077, the device still delivers smooth gameplay at low or medium settings thanks to the support of the RTX 3050 graphics card.
MSI GF63 Thin 11UC offers a smooth gaming experience with its 144 Hz display
Similar to many mainstream gaming laptops nowadays, the MSI GF63 Thin 11UC features a wide 15.6-inch IPS LCD display, an ideal size for common office tasks or gaming. Paired with a Full HD resolution (1,920 x 1,080 pixels), the MSI GF63 Thin 11UC's screen not only offers a spacious display area but also delivers captivating image quality and vibrant colors. Therefore, all entertainment or work experiences on this device are extremely comfortable.

Moreover, this MSI GF63 Thin 11UC's screen has a refresh rate of up to 144 Hz like many other gaming laptops in the same range. With such a high refresh rate, the device provides smooth image transitions, minimizing screen tearing and motion blur, thus enhancing precision during operations. Therefore, if you are a gamer who often plays fast-paced FPS games like CS:GO, Valorant, Apex Legends..., you'll be extremely satisfied.
MSI GF63 Thin 11UC offers reliable battery life and cooling system
For a gaming laptop, battery life is always a concern for users, even though we often plug in the power when in use. However, in some cases, continuous charging may not always be possible. In the case of the MSI GF63 Thin 11UC, MSI has equipped it with a 52.4 Wh battery, allowing the laptop to last for about 2 - 3 hours of continuous usage for basic office tasks such as typing, listening to music, watching YouTube, basic photo editing in Photoshop, or running multiple Chrome tasks simultaneously for work.

To provide a more comprehensive overview of the battery life of the MSI GF63 Thin 11UC, I will use the BatteryMon software to measure it under two different usage scenarios. Below are the results:
- Scenario 1: Performing regular tasks without gaming:
- Battery life: 1 hour and 40 minutes.
- Measurement time: 1 hour.
- Screen brightness 100%, volume 70%, and battery saver mode off.
- Keyboard backlighting enabled.
- USB port used for mouse connection.

- Scenario 2: Performing regular tasks and gaming for about 15 - 20 minutes:
- Battery life: 1 hour and 38 minutes.
- Measurement time: 1 hour.
- Screen brightness 100%, volume 70%, and battery saver mode off.
- Keyboard backlighting enabled.
- USB port used for mouse connection.

In comparison to real-world usage, the experiments conducted by BatteryMon software may have consumed significant battery power on MSI GF63 Thin 11UC, thus the results may not correspond well to our experiences. Therefore, I find that MSI GF63 Thin 11UC has provided a relatively stable battery life for a gaming laptop; however, if you frequently engage in gaming, it's still advisable to connect to power for optimal device performance!

Regarding the cooling capability, MSI GF63 Thin 11UC has seen considerable improvements in the cooling system, so when performing heavy tasks like gaming, the device's temperature remains relatively stable. To verify the cooling capability of MSI GF63 Thin 11UC, I also used HWiNFO64 software for testing. The results I obtained are as follows:

Based on the recorded data, the highest temperature observed on MSI GF63 Thin 11UC is 79 degrees Celsius, which is very good for a gaming laptop and this is also the temperature level during gaming sessions. However, under normal usage, the average temperature of MSI GF63 Thin 11UC typically ranges from 40 to 55 degrees Celsius. Nevertheless, when playing heavy games like Assassin's Creed Syndicate, the fan of MSI GF63 Thin 11UC operates at high speed, resulting in a slightly noisy operation.
