With Nikon Coolpix L340's 20.2 CCD sensor, image quality is excellent, although there's considerable noise in very low-light conditions. If you have poor lighting, consider the Panasonic Lumix ZS50. Its zoom range is impressive; it features a 28x optical zoom with a 56x digital zoom. Integrated image stabilization helps to minimize shake.
Shooting videos with Nikon Coolpix L340 has its downsides. It records in 720p at 30 frames per second. We'd prefer at least 1080p, but to be fair, many popular YouTube users still release videos in 720p. It's even easier with one's upload speed.

Still, it offers more than what the GoPro Hero5 Session will provide you.

It leans slightly towards images, but its video scene modes are fantastic if you want to change up your style. And the price is really hard to argue with. Its closest competitor, the Canon PowerShot SX430, performs similarly but at a higher price point of $130 more. You're getting a big deal here. Even the Canon PowerShot SX610 HS, another competitor, focuses less on video than the Coolpix L340.

For what it's worth, the Nikon Coolpix L340 is a really good camera for those on a tight budget — especially if you're new to vlogging. It even captures great photos. And sure, 720p isn't the best, but stepping up to 1080p means you'll have to shell out more money. On the other hand, not all videos nowadays are of high quality, and 720p is still relatively watchable. So, the Nikon Coolpix L340 is truly a steal you shouldn't overlook.
