The Galaxy A72 leads the mid-range smartphone segment of the Galaxy A released in 2021. This smartphone combines the best features in the mid-range price range. Follow this review to learn more about the screen of this phone.
Great Design, Functionality, and Screen
The Samsung Galaxy A72 is a large smartphone like its A-series siblings released this year. The Super AMOLED display measures a huge 6.7 inches, slightly larger than the 6.5-inch one on the A52, with FHD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. Even with a 5,000mAh battery, the Samsung Galaxy A72 still maintains a sleek appearance, weighing 203 grams.
The A72 is a mid-range phone, but it ensures full functionality carefully considered by Samsung to design this phone model. The Samsung Galaxy A72 has a perfect device activation button for easy one-handed use, as well as an in-display fingerprint sensor for satisfaction despite some latency.

Brightness of Samsung Galaxy A72 Screen
The screen of Samsung Galaxy A72 has a brightness of 800 nits. This makes the A72 perfect for outdoor use, even under sunlight. Along with the 90 Hz refresh rate, content viewing on the phone screen becomes smooth. However, the absence of adaptive refresh rate may lead to higher power consumption, especially when you're engrossed in watching a long movie.
Refresh Rate of Samsung Galaxy A72
A 90Hz refresh rate is considered a 'high refresh rate' by today's standards. It's just a tad higher than the 60Hz refresh rate, yet still a significant change. Based on past experiences, transitioning from 60Hz to 90Hz doesn't significantly affect battery life.
As mentioned earlier, the Galaxy A72 doesn't promise anything regarding 'smart' or adaptive refresh rate capabilities. Instead, it only offers two options in the display settings: High and Standard corresponding to refresh rates of 90Hz and 60Hz, respectively.

Hopefully, Samsung will soon introduce some additional 'smart' features into the system through software updates.
Samsung Galaxy A72 Screen Experience for Gaming and Movie Watching
Watching videos, movies, and browsing the web are daily activities that most people enjoy, so a smartphone should excel at least in these tasks. The Samsung Galaxy A72 performs excellently in these aspects, surely not disappointing you. The Galaxy A72 screen bears the hallmark quality from the leading phone manufacturer Samsung with ample brightness and vibrant colors.
When we tested the A72 screen with 2 games: League of Legends: Wild Rift, Arena of Valor, the visual experience was decent. The Galaxy A72 can handle Arena of Valor with High resolution and High detail settings, but unfortunately, the image quality only reaches High instead of HD.

Similarly with League of Legends: Wild Rift, all graphic settings only reach High instead of HD. Additionally, even though High frame rate mode in Wild Rift offers options for 90 and 120Hz, the Galaxy A72 can only reach up to 60Hz.
From the beginning to the end of the game, the phone didn't experience any lag. The image remained stable, and the frame rate fluctuated between 55fps and 60fps.
