General Information about Sennheiser IE 80S BT Bluetooth In-Ear Headphones
Overview:
Experience the pinnacle of audio quality and portability with Sennheiser's top-of-the-line Bluetooth in-ear headphones. Balancing audiophile sound with a sleek, lightweight neckband design and seamless wireless connectivity.
Even as wireless headphones, the IE 80S BT delivers audiophile-grade sound, boasting exceptional detail and an expansive soundstage. Achieving this requires top-notch hardware within the IE 80S BT, compensating for its wireless connectivity.
Moreover, if you don't mind the neckband design, then you should definitely consider purchasing the IE 80S BT. Compared to its true wireless competitors (such as the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2), the sound quality of the IE 80S BT surpasses them all. The reason being, true wireless earphones have to transmit Bluetooth signals from one master earbud to a slave earbud, which inevitably degrades the sound quality. In contrast, the IE 80S BT has the Bluetooth transmission hardware located in the neckband, which then delivers the signal to both earbuds via the cable, resulting in superior audio fidelity and spatial representation.
Technology:
The exceptional sound quality of the IE 80S BT is attributed to its superior hardware components, including high-res codecs (LHDC, aptX HD, and AAC), a DAC chip from AKM, and notably powerful neodymium magnets inside the earphone drivers. These hardware elements enable the IE 80S BT to decode high-bit music signals, delivering authentic sound quality comparable to wired headphones.
Of particular note is the aptX Low Latency codec, which nearly eliminates the delay between audio and video playback.
Balanced Sound Quality:
I'll delve deeper into what I love about the sound quality below. But for now, let's focus on the overall balanced sound of the IE 80S BT.
When it comes to the Sennheiser brand, many of us immediately think of dry, detailed sound, robust and punchy bass, generally suitable for music with lots of vocals or instruments.
However, I find the IE 80S BT excels across a variety of music genres. I've listened to jazz, pop, rock, and even electronic music with plenty of sound effects (trip hop, edm, etc.). It's all simply mesmerizing.
One unique feature that attracts many people to purchase the IE 80S BT is its customizable sound: firstly, you can adjust the bass directly on the earphones using the small screw (included in the product box), twisting the groove on the earphones; secondly, you can use the Sennheiser app to connect and adjust via the equalizer system.
Design, utility, and accompanying accessories:

Things I Love

Things I Dislike
Honestly, there's nothing I dislike about the IE 80S BT. Being an audiophile, I purchased it mainly for its sound quality. The neckband design is truly not an issue as many may think. The IE 80S BT is extremely lightweight (feels like wearing nothing) and the outer material is matte, non-absorbent, dust-resistant, and very easy to clean (I often wear it while running, and a quick wipe with a damp cloth after jogging is sufficient).A general tip with neckbands is that after listening, just tuck the earphones into a cloth pouch for neatness and convenience. Don't be lazy and leave them dangling around your neck.
