Faker once hinted at a 'surprise' for those awaiting T1 Ahri skin
As known, Faker chose Orianna for T1's 2023 Worlds skin over Ahri, which was regrettable as Ahri is truly one of the hottest champions in LoL. However, many discovered Faker may have chosen Orianna to honor his grandmother - the one who nurtured and cared for Faker since he was young. Moreover, Orianna was the champion his grandmother knew best, having watched him practice with her even at 2-3 AM.

However, not to disappoint fans, Faker also revealed that in 2024, T1 Ahri enthusiasts will receive a special surprise. Many speculate Riot may create another skin to honor Faker. Because Faker and T1 are the only player and team, respectively, to have won 4 World Championships, a feat that is almost certain to never be surpassed, especially considering the closest person to this achievement has long since retired (Bengi - 3-time World Champion).

However, it turns out the reason is simpler: Riot will introduce a Legendary Ahri skin in 2024. Riot's recent skin release schedule just revealed the name Ahri. Therefore, one reason influencing Faker's decision was the fact that Ahri will also have a new skin, a Legendary one, in the new year. This, combined with reasons related to his grandmother, led Faker to 'change course.'

Currently, no official images of Legendary Ahri have been revealed. However, Riot faces an invisible pressure: Ahri's skin must be 'epic' enough to be worthy of the 'surprise' for the LoL community as Faker disclosed. Many fans still lament Faker's decision to not choose Ahri.

However, with what Faker and Ahri revealed, 2024 holds great anticipation as many hot champions will receive new skins, in addition to the CKTG 2023 skin for T1. And perhaps, at this moment, many fans have prepared their wallets to be ready to 'donate blood' to Riot in the new year.
