Many experts believe RNG has, is, and will be the team facing the most disadvantages in champion select at Worlds 2022.
Royal Never Give Up (RNG) secured complete victory in the Group Stage of the World Championship 2022. However, particularly in the match against Gen.G Esports (Gen.G), the representative of the LCK, it was more of Gen.G's self-destruction than RNG's excellence. As the number one seed from the LCK region, Gen.G opted for an inefficient composition. They had Lehends ensuring control but lacked a strong enough Marksman to take down the opponent. RNG fully exploited the passive combination in the Bottom Lane of Gen.G. It can be said that RNG's victory was too easy.

Subsequent matches against CBTC Flying Oyster (CFO) or 100Thieves, these two teams are fundamentally not worthy opponents to expose RNG's weaknesses. But one clear fact is that many positions of RNG are facing a very narrow champion pool.
Although this team uses those champions very effectively, many experts also question RNG's outcome if in case the most favored champions of RNG are banned or picked before.

A prime example is Yuumi in the hands of Support Ming. Yuumi is currently a highly popular champion in the current meta, or will be banned as soon as possible. In almost all of RNG's matches, Yuumi is a champion that will surely be banned to deprive a powerful weapon from a veteran like Ming. Therefore, RNG will almost never get a very strong champion in the current meta.

RNG is fortunate to have both Breathe and GALA, who possess a wide champion pool. Especially Breathe, who can handle tough resistance champions or engage-oriented ones, even primary damage sources.
GALA is also effective in matches following the current popular playstyle. However, Breathe's weakness is that he plays too sacrificially, entirely serving the team's playstyle. Meanwhile, GALA, this player is susceptible if he has to play champions requiring precise situation handling like Draven.

Not only GALA and Breathe, but also Wei and Xiaohu are concerning. Up to now, the most effective champions used by Wei are Graves and Viego. Even in the Play-In stage, Wei's champion pool includes Sejuani and Vi.
But neither of these two champions has an absolute win rate like Graves and Viego. It can be seen that Wei's specialties lie in these two champions, and if the opponent identifies Wei as one of RNG's main damage dealers, it's almost certain that Graves and Viego will be banned in the future.

As for Xiaohu, up to now, RNG's Mid Lane tends to use assassin champions. Additionally, Xiaohu has another champion, Sylas, who is quite effective but often banned. However, one fact is that if Xiaohu uses champions with certain toughness, capable of protecting teammates (like Galio), then other team members will shine more comfortably.

RNG's playstyle can be described as extremely unique as they efficiently utilize Mid Lane Assassin champions. However, the champions currently used effectively by RNG players are somewhat limited.
The members of RNG themselves also harbor many issues. Therefore, if they advance past the Group Stage, RNG players may need to diversify their playstyles to deliver the best results for their team.
