It's evident that to reach the level of MSI 2022 champions and defeat T1, RNG had to put in a lot of hard work.
As we all know, on the previous day - May 29th, the MSI 2022 title officially belonged to Royal Never Give Up after they defeated T1 in the Finals with a score of 3-2. This victory helped RNG successfully defend their MSI championship title and maintain the streak of no home teams winning MSI or Worlds since 2015.

Naturally, to overcome a top-tier team like T1, RNG had to possess an immensely formidable strength. In a post-Finals interview, RNG's coach KenZhu disclosed that they prepared for the entire playoffs phase by scrimmaging against the world champions - EDward Gaming. Moreover, the team took extra caution by having EDG's Flandre train separately with Bin in matchups featuring Gangplank and Gwen.

RNG's coach - KenZhu: 'I want to extend my sincerest thanks to the EDG players for practicing with us extensively in recent days. Especially Flandre, who trained separately with Bin on challenging matchups in the Top lane. This victory owes much to the contributions of the EDG players, and we are deeply grateful to them.'
If you recall, HLV KenZhu was responsible for drafting the lineup at the 2021 Worlds for EDward Gaming. Due to this connection, even after transitioning to coaching RNG, KenZhu maintained a strong relationship and was able to practice with EDG. It's clear that training with a top-tier opponent like EDG significantly enhances RNG's strength.

Not stopping there, in a recent stream, Flandre revealed that he was asked by Coach KenZhu to practice 1v1 with Bin to prepare for the MSI 2022 playoffs. He mentioned that he and Bin practiced matchups involving Gwen and Gangplank extensively, as these are two strong champions frequently seen in Top lane battles. Flandre even joked with his RNG teammates that they had to pay him 20 CNY (around 70,000 VND) for each 1v1 match like that.

Truly, with meticulous preparation like that, RNG deserves to be the champion of MSI 2022. They have shown incredibly consistent performance throughout the tournament, rarely making mistakes or suffering from poor drafts that lead to losses. Hopefully, RNG will continue to maintain their current form and perform successfully in the upcoming LPL Summer Split, securing a spot in Worlds at the end of the year.
