The rapid development of Seoul has led to the soaring skyscrapers and expanding concrete roads, but in some corners of this city, there are still residential areas, ancient villages preserving their unique charm.
Roaming around Bukchon Hanok Village: A Delightful Stopover on your Seoul Trip
Bukchon Hanok Village is considered the most beautiful ancient village in Seoul. It's also a fantastic place for travelers eager to delve into the culture of South Korea.

The village lies between Gyeongbok Palace, Changdeok Palace, and Jongmyo Shrine, with numerous alleys and well-preserved houses. Bukchon Hanok Village dates back over 600 years with its unique architectural style. Its charm lies not only in the simple yet sturdy exterior but also in the harmoniously decorated interiors.

Wandering through the village, you can explore traditional houses and discover unforgettable spots like Korean-style tea houses or outdoor museums.

This beautiful village gathers around 900 hanok houses, originally residences of noble families and officials during the Joseon Dynasty, impeccably preserved. Visitors can stroll through narrow streets, admiring architectural beauty from centuries past.

The houses here are built with a distinctive architectural style, using mainly natural materials carefully selected. Many houses maintain their ancient appearance, nestled under rows of persimmon trees.

Today, few people reside in this area. Instead, the houses are repurposed as traditional restaurants, guesthouses, tea houses, and cultural centers. The village is a perfect space brimming with the historical imprint of Korea.
