Though just inaugurated in 2015, the romantic Love Bridge by the Han River has swiftly become one of Da Nang's most alluring tourist destinations for the youth. This spot has been chosen by many couples as a place to commemorate their love by attaching 'love locks' to the bridge's railing.
Love Bridge – New Tourist Highlight in Da Nang
Located on the eastern side of Tran Hung Dao Street, between the Dragon Bridge and the Han River Bridge, the bridge spans 68m long and 6m wide, facing the middle of the river. The walking path is approximately 2m wide, offering ample space for visitors to enjoy the scenic Han River and breathe in the fresh air. The 'love boat bridge' is part of the 'Marina and Underwater Sports Club' project in Da Nang tourist destinations.
The bridge is an amalgamation of the 'Carp Turning into Dragon' statue – a famous symbol of Singapore, and inspiration from renowned 'love lock' bridges like Pont des Arts in France, Hohenzollern in Germany, and Milvio in Italy. However, the bridge is stylized uniquely to embody the distinct characteristics of Vietnam.
In the evening, the bridge comes alive with hundreds of red heart-shaped lanterns illuminating the water, creating a dazzling and incredibly romantic scene. This place has become a familiar rendezvous point for couples in Da Nang.
By utilizing motifs on the bridge's wrought iron railings featuring carp turning into dragons, the bridge is embellished with 'love trees' adorned with clusters of traditional Vietnamese lanterns shaped like hearts, creating a beautiful spectacle.
Currently, the Love Bridge is among the top tourist attractions in Da Nang garnering attention from the younger generation.
Love Bridge – Where Couples Leave Their Mark
More than just a fun destination in Da Nang for couples, the Love Bridge is also chosen by many engaged pairs to commemorate their love by using heart-shaped 'love locks.'
The single and double locks with intertwined heart motifs make lovers extremely fond of capturing their happy moments of love.
