As per the general regulations of the Ministry of Information and Communication on sales, telecom providers are required to strategically reorganize their number resources. Here are the rules for changing from 11-digit to 10-digit SIMs.
1. Expected Start Time
According to information from telecom companies, the commencement date is set for 15/9/2018, concluding on 30/6/2019. For Viettel, in the initial phase, they will conduct trials with 1000 randomly selected subscribers who will receive a message with the following content:
“Your mobile number with 11 digits has been successfully transitioned to 10 digits. This notice is to inform you so that you can proactively update and re-register your phone number for banking services, online services, and other related services.”
2. What Subscribers Need to Do
You won't need to perform any actions or steps; the system will automatically convert without distinguishing between prepaid or postpaid subscribers.
What you need to do is, after receiving the successful conversion notification, re-register the external services and applications you are using with the old number.
3. Rules for Number Change
Example: If your phone number is: 0165. 1234567, it will be changed to 035. 1234567
Example: If you have the prefix 0125.1234567, it will be changed to 085. 1234567. Except for the prefixes 0127, 0129, which will be replaced with 081, 082 respectively.
For the Mobiphone network, only the last 7 digits will be retained, and the first 4 digits will be changed in order:

During and after the successful transition, your mobile account and services like 3G, 4G, ringtones, and caller tunes will still be preserved and maintained well. Feel free to use them without any concerns.
