1. Capturing Pieces
When you move your chess piece to the exact position occupied by an opponent's piece, your piece will replace it and capture the opponent's piece.
Cannot capture your own pieces.
You can strategically sacrifice pieces, act as bait in Chinese Chess tactics, except for the General piece.
Captured pieces will be removed from the chessboard.
2. Check and Mate
When moving a piece, if the next move of that piece or another piece can capture the opponent's General, it is called a check.
When in check, one must find ways to respond; otherwise, it will lead to defeat.
During a check, a player can say 'check' or remain silent.
The General can be checked from all four directions.
When in check, the General must move to a different position or find a way to capture the piece putting it in check.
Another option is to use other pieces on the board to block the direction of the check.
3. King's Defense
Two Generals cannot face each other vertically without any pieces in between.
Avoid positioning the Generals facing each other.
4. Chase the Pieces
Move a piece to a position where it can capture an opponent's piece (excluding the General) in the next move.
Alternatively, make a move that puts the opponent's Soldier in check with the Cannon.
Excluding the following exceptions:
When the General or Soldier's move puts the opponent's piece in check. This move is not considered chasing the piece.
Moves that threaten a Soldier not yet across the river are not considered chasing the piece.
Moves for demonstration purposes are not considered chasing the piece.
5. Victory in Chess
Checkmating the opponent's General.
When in Check, the opponent fails to find a way to save their General.
The opponent does not make the required number of moves within the specified time.
The opponent arrives late beyond the specified time to start the match.
Repeating the same check multiple times is not allowed.
If the opponent violates the rules while this side does not, and the rule-violating side refuses to change the move, the violating side forfeits the game.
When unsealing continues the game, if the unsealing party records the move incorrectly without explanation, they are declared the loser. If a player records the move incorrectly in the unsealed move, but the opponent resigns, both are declared losers.
The opponent self-declares conceding.
6. Game Loss
Failing to record 3 sets of 4 consecutive moves.
The opponent commits a technical error 3 times or a behavioral error 3 times.
The opponent violates specific game loss cases in specific board positions.
7. Draw in Chess
When both sides have no Chess pieces capable of threatening each other.
The game is a draw when the total number of moves made since the game progressed is 30. The game progresses when a piece is captured on the chessboard.
Both sides refuse to change moves, and no rule violations occur.
Both sides simultaneously violate the same rule.
The total number of moves in the game is 300.
If one side proposes a draw and the other agrees, the game ends in a draw.
One party suggests a draw, the arbitrator will check if both sides have made 60 moves, and if the game does not progress, a draw will be declared.
When in a checkmate situation with no available moves, proposing a draw is not allowed.
