Realme C40's specs get an upgrade thanks to the Helio G96 processor
According to leaked information from PhoneAqua, Realme C40 might be equipped with MediaTek's Helio G96 chip. To briefly describe the Helio G96, it's an octa-core chip manufactured on a 12nm process featuring 2 high-performance Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.05GHz and 6 Cortex-A55 cores, similar to its predecessor, the Helio G95. This is also the highest-end processor in the G-series lineup as of now, so you can rest assured about the performance that Realme C40 might deliver.

However, this is a chip usually equipped for mid-range devices so I'm quite hesitant because if Realme C40 is indeed equipped with the Helio G96 chip, the price of the device will somewhat be pushed up and this will not be quite reasonable for a budget device like Realme C40. Therefore, personally, I think the Helio G25 would be a more suitable chip for Realme C40. Considering both performance and price, this chip is very suitable to be equipped for an upgraded device like Realme C40.

Adding a bit more about the Helio G25 for you to know, this is the 'national chip' for cheap smartphones, manufactured on a 12 nm FinFET process and equipped with 8 ARM Cortex-A53 CPU cores divided into two clusters. One cluster with 4 performance cores clocked at up to 2 GHz and one efficiency cluster with speeds up to 1.5 GHz. Therefore, this is indeed a suitable processor for Realme C40 and is also an upgrade from the Unisoc T612 chip in the Realme C30.

PhoneAqua also revealed that Realme C40 will be equipped with either 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM, which is a significant upgrade to ensure smooth operation, better multitasking, and to avoid lagging issues. However, personally, I think Realme C40 will only be upgraded to 3 GB or 4 GB of RAM instead of 6 GB or 8 GB, because compared to the 2 GB and 3 GB in the previous generation, 8 GB is truly too high for a device priced in the budget segment like Realme C40.

In addition, Realme C40 may come with 128 GB of internal storage to provide users with ample space to store data for study, work, or to download entertainment apps for leisure time!

Additionally, PhoneTechx also shared that to ensure sufficient battery life to meet users' daily needs, Realme C40 will be powered by a 5,000 mAh battery. This is a quite impressive figure in the current market, and with this battery capacity, Realme C40 can easily meet your usage needs throughout a long day for basic tasks!

According to the latest leaked information, the specific specifications of Realme C40 are as follows:
- Display: 6.5-inch size, IPS LCD panel, HD+ resolution.
- CPU: Helio G96.
- RAM: 6 GB or 8 GB.
- Internal storage: 128 GB.
- Rear camera: 48 MP + 2 MP resolution.
- Selfie camera: 8 MP resolution.
- Battery: 5,000 mAh.
What's new with Realme C40? A 6.5-inch display and an impressive camera system
According to sources from Giznext, Realme C40 will feature a 6.5-inch IPS LCD display with HD+ resolution. These leaked specifications are similar to the predecessor Realme C30, it seems like Realme C40 won't be upgraded in terms of display, but don't worry too much because with these specifications, Realme C40 can still meet your display needs through vibrant and relatively sharp images.

As for the camera system of Realme C40, the source also reveals that the device will have an upgraded camera system compared to the predecessor version with 2 lenses at the rear and a selfie sensor at the front with specific details as follows:
- Main Camera: 48 MP resolution.
- Secondary Camera: 2 MP resolution.
- Selfie Camera: 8 MP resolution.

Compared to equipping an 8 MP lens in the predecessor version, it seems like Realme C40 will be upgraded as it will have dual cameras at the back with a 48 MP main sensor. Along with that is a 2 MP secondary camera, however, the function of this sensor has not been revealed yet but I think it's likely to be a depth sensor and the selfie camera will also be upgraded from 5 MP in the previous generation to 8 MP.
How much is Realme C40? When will Realme C40 launch?
Unfortunately, information about the price and release date of Realme C40 has not been disclosed yet. However, based on information from the predecessor generation and combined with the leaked specifications mentioned above, the device is likely to be priced between 3 - 3.5 million VND and will be launched in June 2023. With the upgrades in terms of specifications and camera, this price range is quite suitable for what Realme C40 has to offer!
