Recently, amidst backlash from fans labeling it as a cheap power-up for main characters, there's speculation that Black Clover might stretch out like One Piece. Is it fact or mere hearsay?
Recent intel suggests Black Clover manga will take a 3-month hiatus before returning for its final arc. However, a while back, there was a rumor circulating that Black Clover's author aims to prolong the series akin to One Piece.
Truth be told, Black Clover's creator, Yuki Tabata, expressed this intention years ago. He stated his desire for the series to be as lengthy as One Piece and Naruto. In a 2018 exclusive interview with a French website, Francetvinfo, Tabata was asked: 'Is Black Clover going to be an epic saga like One Piece or Naruto?' To which he replied: 'Yes, that's my goal, and I'll do everything to make it happen. I'm mentally preparing myself to avoid long breaks!'
But the question arises: why did Yuki Tabata opt to conclude the manga prematurely? What or who is hindering him from extending Black Clover to the length of One Piece? In an interview, the mangaka revealed that when he started Black Clover, he only slept 3 hours a day. Tabata has been tirelessly working for 3 years, leaving very little time for rest.
Yuki Tabata shared insights into his work, saying: 'I have readers worldwide, and that means a lot to me. But now, I yearn for some rest! However, I'm just 33, so it's not the time yet. My dream is to travel the world with my wife once I've completed Black Clover.'
It seems like Yuki is feeling exhausted now after spending so much time nurturing her spiritual child. However, compared to One Piece, Black Clover couldn't catch up. Eiichiro Oda is a remarkably creative mangaka, writing continuously for over 20 years, which not everyone can achieve. Certainly, the content of One Piece is compelling enough for the author to prolong it, whereas the essence of Black Clover's story would be more captivating if it were to conclude within the next 1-2 years.
