Whether you're prepared or not, bidding farewell to the Sentosa Merlion in Singapore after 10/20/2019 is inevitable.
Disheartening news for Singapore Enthusiasts. The iconic Merlion statue and renowned 'check-in' spot in the Lion City will be demolished to make way for Sentosa Sensoryscape, a new pedestrian thoroughfare connecting Resorts World Sentosa to the southern beaches.
New Connecting Pathway to Replace Sentosa's Merlion Icon

If you're an avid traveler, you're likely familiar with the 37-meter-tall Merlion statue, one of Singapore's most visited attractions. Its absence will undoubtedly leave a noticeable void in the hearts of both locals and tourists.
However, this change is deemed necessary to expand tourism opportunities in the Lion City. The replacement for the Sentosa Merlion will be a pedestrian walkway project costing up to 90 million SGD, reducing the distance between the southern and northern beaches of Sentosa.
Even though the tallest Merlion statue in Singapore at Sentosa will vanish in October, you can still marvel at and capture 'Instagram-worthy' photos with the original Merlion statue located at Marina Bay.
Merlion Themed Light Show at Sentosa From 09/21 to 10/20/2019

To bid farewell to the statue and significant tourist spot, visitors can participate in a special light show event with the Merlion theme from September 21st, 2019, to October 20th, 2019.
Special Note: Singaporean citizens will be able to purchase tickets for this event at half price. Individuals aged 60 and above will also have COMPLETELY FREE admission.
Exciting Recreational Activities Suggestions at Sentosa

The absence of the Merlion statue doesn't mean that a self-guided trip to Sentosa will be any less enticing. This island now offers a plethora of exciting recreational activities and entertaining options, such as exploring the tropical rainforest via cable car or experiencing bungee jumping. Don't miss out!
