HOW TO ROOT GALAXY S6 AND INSTALL TWRP FOR SAMSUNG S6
Like other Samsung devices running Android, rooting Galaxy S6 can be done using the general Root Android method. However, due to the specific characteristics of each device, the process and execution may vary. Below is a guide to root Galaxy S6 and install TWRP for Samsung S6.
PREPARATION:
- Download and install necessary software and tools.
+ Samsung Driver: get Samsung Drivers Update Utility
+ Download Odin: get Odin
+ Download TWRP Recovery: get TWRP Recovery for S6
- Activation:

- Ensure device battery is charged over 50%
EXECUTION
Firstly,:
- Transfer the 'TWRP Recovery' file downloaded earlier to your phone.
- Put S6 into Download Mode: Press and hold Volume Down + Home + Power for 3 - 5 seconds until the device shows a warning sign, then press Volume Up.
- Extract the Odin file.
Execute root Galaxy S6, install TWRP for Samsung S6:
- Run the .exe Odin file extracted earlier to initiate the process of rooting your Samsung Galaxy S6 and installing TWRP for your Samsung S6.
+ Connect your phone to the computer. When Odin detects the device, the ID:COM (1) will change color.
+ Select AP (2) and navigate to the TWRP-2.8.6.0-zerofxxx.img.tar file.
+ From the main Odin interface, select Options and uncheck Auto Reboot, then press Start to initiate the process of rooting Galaxy S6 and installing TWRP for Samsung S6.
Note: during the process of rooting Galaxy S6 and installing TWRP for Samsung S6, Odin will provide you with a Pass to use, remember to note down this Pass.
+ Disconnect the cable connecting the computer to the Galaxy S6 and press Volume Down + Power for about 5-7s to turn off/black the screen.
+ At this point, simultaneously press the buttons: Volume Up + Home + Power (note: perform this quickly before the device boots up and the Samsung logo appears), until the Samsung logo appears, release the Power button and hold Volume Up + Home to enter the blue screen.
- Press Install in TWRP, navigate to the file you copied to the device earlier to proceed with rooting Galaxy S6 and installing TWRP for Samsung S6.
- Confirm installation. You need to confirm this installation, to do this simply swipe the slider button to the right. When you see the Flashlight icon, return to the main TWRP menu and press Reboot System and wait for the device to reboot to complete the process of rooting Galaxy S6 and installing TWRP for Samsung S6.
