The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has approved after 4 years of selection. The bridge is designed with a coconut leaf-shaped structure - the symbol of the South, creating architectural highlights on the Saigon River.

The pedestrian bridge across the Saigon River will be constructed between Ba Son Bridge and the Saigon River tunnel, connecting the new Thủ Thiêm urban area in Thu Duc City with District 1. On the District 1 side, the bridge's base is planned to be located in the Bach Dang Park area, near Nguyen Hue Street. On the Thủ Thiêm side, the bridge's base will be in the riverside park and outside the boundary of Zone A - to the south of the central square in this urban area.
