Describing the Prehistoric Giraffe for 4th Graders
Hello everyone. My name is the giraffe. Judging by the name, you probably already know I belong to the giraffe family. Because of my exceptionally long neck since birth, people affectionately call me the giraffe.
I have a tall and majestic stature, possibly the tallest among land animals. As previously mentioned, I have a neck that stretches up to 2 meters, firm and robust. Due to my long neck, my head is relatively small to support it. My eyes are large, dark, and my ears are big and always standing tall. I also have horns similar to other giraffes. However, mine are very small and short, to match my petite head. Our giraffe family members love wearing yellow-orange coats with black-bordered octagon patterns, looking stunning and eye-catching. Our four legs are long and very sturdy. They can run very fast when chased by predators. We giraffes particularly enjoy eating leaves from the acacia trees in the African desert. Especially the young leaves up high. And thanks to our ideal height, we can easily reach them.
Just a brief introduction, but perhaps you already understand more about our giraffe species. If you have the opportunity, I invite you to Africa to visit us. Then you will probably discover many more interesting things.
