Samsung Galaxy M51 is powered by the Snapdragon 730 chipset, a mid-range processor from Qualcomm that received positive reviews at the time of the device's launch. Despite being nearly 2 years old, the Snapdragon 730 still delivers commendable performance, allowing the device to handle various tasks and popular games in the market. To provide a clearer understanding of the Galaxy M51's performance, I will conduct several tests to evaluate its capabilities.
Galaxy M51 Performance Evaluation
To ensure a fair and optimal performance evaluation, I have upgraded the operating system of the Samsung Galaxy M51 to the latest version, OneUI 4.1 (based on Android 12).

In this segment, we will evaluate the performance of the Samsung Galaxy M51 using popular benchmarking tools such as GeekBench 5, PCMark, and 3DMark. The testing conditions are as follows:
- The device battery must be between 90 - 100% (performance and results may be affected if the battery is below 90%).
- No charging during the benchmarking process.
- Conduct 3 consecutive benchmark tests and calculate the average result.
Firstly, let's delve into the results obtained from PCMark and GeekBench 5 after conducting the tests with the Samsung Galaxy M51. Specifically, the results are as follows:
- Geekbench 5: Single-core score of 408, multi-core score of 1,527, and OpenCL score of 949.
- PCMark: 7,710 points.

Despite being nearly 2 years old, the Samsung Galaxy M51 still delivers impressive results. Specifically, in the GeekBench 5 test, the Galaxy M51 achieved a single-core score of 408 and a multi-core score of 1,527, demonstrating stability for a mid-range smartphone. Additionally, in the PCMark test, the device scored 7,710 points.
Moving on to the 3DMark Wild Life benchmark, the Samsung Galaxy M51 scored 302 points with an average frame rate of 1.80 FPS.

Additionally, I conducted a stability test to evaluate the device's performance during prolonged heavy tasks using the 3DMark Wild Life Extreme Stress Test. This demanding test was repeated 20 times consecutively to assess the smartphone's stability under extended heavy loads. The results are depicted in the image below, with a focus on the Stability percentage.

After running various tests, it appears that OneUI 4.1, being a new operating system version, might not be fully optimized for the 3DMark Wild Life Extreme software. Consequently, my Samsung Galaxy M51 achieved a stability rating of 79.9%, with frame rates fluctuating between 1 and 3 FPS. Despite the demanding test, the battery percentage only dropped by 2%, from 93% to 91%. This indicates that both the performance and battery life of the Samsung Galaxy M51 remain sufficient for extended gaming sessions.

Nevertheless, these figures provide a glimpse into the device's capabilities, offering only an approximation of its true power. To gain a more comprehensive understanding, let's delve into the experience of playing some popular games on the Samsung Galaxy M51 to assess its performance.
Galaxy M51 excels in gaming even at 2 years old
In this section, I will use the Samsung Galaxy M51 to experience playing various popular games such as Arena of Valor, PUBG Mobile, Call of Duty Mobile, and Play Together. Additionally, I'll utilize the Perfdog software to measure the frame rates of each game, and you can find the related data at the following link for your reference.
- Arena of Valor
The first game I experienced on the Samsung Galaxy M51 is Arena of Valor. The game allows my Galaxy M51 to effortlessly set graphics to nearly the highest level, as shown in the image below.
Regarding the gaming experience of this title on the nearly 2-year-old Samsung Galaxy M51, the device still provides a stable experience with frame rates consistently fluctuating between 50 - 60 FPS. However, during intense battles with numerous skill effects, the Galaxy M51 may warm up slightly, leading to a slight drop in frame rates. Nevertheless, the device's graphic processing and image reproduction capabilities are relatively strong, enhancing the overall gaming experience.
- PUBG Mobile
The next game I'm diving into is PUBG Mobile, a popular battle royale with much heavier graphics than Arena of Valor. In this game, my Samsung Galaxy M51 can comfortably set graphics to HD and frame rate to High. However, for a smoother experience, I'll reduce graphics to Smooth and set the frame rate to Ultra, as shown below.
Although I've lowered the graphics a bit to achieve higher frame rates, unfortunately, the frame rate when playing PUBG Mobile on the Samsung Galaxy M51 still fluctuates between 35 - 41 FPS. Additionally, in crowded areas, there's a slight stutter, but overall, it doesn't significantly impact my gaming experience.
- Call of Duty Mobile
Besides PUBG Mobile, another first-person shooter with stunning graphics that I absolutely love is Call of Duty Mobile. This game allows me to set image quality and frame rate to Very High, but for stability, I'll set it to High/Max as shown below.
Despite being a graphics-intensive game comparable to PUBG Mobile, Call of Duty Mobile seems to optimize hardware very well, providing a much better experience on the Samsung Galaxy M51. The frame rate in the game is consistently maintained at 40 FPS, and the visuals are displayed beautifully. Controls are responsive, and transition effects when aiming and shooting are smooth without any lag hindering my gaming experience.
- Play Together
The last game I explored on the Samsung Galaxy M51 is the popular Play Together, which attracted a large player base during the COVID-19 lockdowns. For this game, I will experience it with graphics settings set to High. You can see more details in the image below.

For this game, my Samsung Galaxy M51 can still effortlessly provide a smooth experience. However, in some mini-games with a high player density, lagging issues have appeared, impacting the frame rate slightly.
Recently, I explored playing some popular games on the Samsung Galaxy M51. Overall, I found that games with moderate graphics requirements and appropriate configuration settings run smoothly on the Snapdragon 730 chip of the Samsung Galaxy M51. For heavier, graphically demanding games, the Samsung Galaxy M51 can handle them adequately, providing entertainment after hours of work or study. Additionally, the device does not heat up too quickly during extended gaming sessions, ensuring a comfortable experience.
Galaxy M51 with a 7,000 mAh battery can last for over 12 hours of continuous use
After 2 years since its launch, how long can the Samsung Galaxy M51 work after being fully charged? To address this question, I will examine the device's battery using some familiar battery tests based on the standards of The Gioi Di Dong. The specific conditions of the battery test are as follows:
- Experience 4 rotating tasks: Playing Liên Quân Mobile (graphics settings as shown below), watching YouTube, scrolling through Facebook, and using the Chrome browser.

- Each task will be performed for 1 hour.
- Screen brightness is set to 100%.
- Wired headphones plugged in with volume at 100%.
- Wi-Fi and social media notifications are enabled.
- Battery saver, adaptive brightness, GPS, and Bluetooth are disabled.
- Check from 100% to 0%.
The results of the battery test with the Samsung Galaxy M51 are as follows:

After more than 12 hours of continuous operation, the Samsung Galaxy M51 has depleted its impressive 7,000 mAh battery. This figure is quite remarkable compared to the device lasting just over 11 hours on the OneUI 3.1 operating system. As this is a test under continuous usage conditions, it may cause the device to heat up and consume more battery. In practical scenarios with light tasks such as web browsing, Facebook scrolling, YouTube watching, and occasional gaming, the device is expected to easily last over a day.
What's the price of the Galaxy M51? Is it worth buying?
At the current moment, the Samsung Galaxy M51 is back on sale at The Gioi Di Dong with a price of 8.99 million VND (may vary depending on the timing and promotional programs). Considering its stable configuration and the robust battery life of the Samsung Galaxy M51, the price seems entirely reasonable and is suitable for those who are economically conscious and need a phone that performs well for their daily entertainment needs.
