The Galaxy Note 9 was officially unveiled on 9/8 during a Samsung Unpacked event in New York, introducing various new features. While the design remains largely unchanged, it features a 6.4-inch display, comes in 4 colors, boasts the most powerful processor, offers up to 512GB of storage, and includes a 4000mAh battery.
No Design Changes Compared to Its Predecessor
In terms of design, the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 retains the same frame design as the previous 5th generation Note series, featuring an infinity display, metal frame, and glass back for a sleek appearance. One of the most noticeable changes on this Galaxy Note 9 is the increased screen size to 6.4 inches along with significantly thinner bezels below.
The Samsung Note 9 comes with a 6.4-inch display, utilizing Super AMOLED technology with Quad HD+ resolution of 2960 x 1440, providing a pixel density of up to 516 PPI.
Regarding the rear design, the notable change comes from the dual-camera setup, featuring a 12MP primary sensor with variable aperture from f/1.5 to f/2.4, along with a secondary 12MP sensor with f/2.4 aperture.

It can be argued that the S-Pen is the most significant upgrade on the Galaxy Note 9, as this stylus integrates a range of new technologies such as Bluetooth Low Energy, allowing users to use the S-Pen to control tasks on the phone such as taking photos or controlling PowerPoint slides on a computer.
Another notable difference is that this S-Pen requires a battery for power and features a charging mechanism between the Note 9 and the pen. You only need 40 seconds to insert the pen into the device to use it for an extended period of time.

The Galaxy Note 9 will be equipped with 2 versions featuring Snapdragon 845 and Exynos processors depending on the market. The device will have 2 options including 6GB RAM and the premium 8GB RAM version. Storage options go up to 1TB with 512GB internal storage and support for up to 512GB external memory cards. It integrates a 4,000mAh battery, 20% larger than the Note 8, improving battery life significantly.

Regarding the camera, Samsung equips the Galaxy Note 9 with a dual-camera setup featuring two aperture options similar to the Galaxy Note9. The primary 12MP sensor can switch between apertures from f/1.5 to f/2.4, paired with a secondary 12MP sensor with f/2.4 aperture, supported by AI to help users capture the best photos.
Moreover, Samsung has integrated the Scene Optimizer feature, which accurately distinguishes between 20 different environments to adjust camera settings for optimal photo quality.
Samsung has also introduced the Armoji feature, complemented by Disney character packs, enabling super slow-motion recording.
Simplified Samsung Dex
Samsung has streamlined Samsung Dex by eliminating the need for a separate dock to connect the phone to a computer. Now, the Note 9 transforms into a 'computer' when connected to a second screen with just a USB-C to HDMI cable.
The new adapter on the Galaxy Note 9 will be much smaller, allowing you to easily slip it into your pocket. However, there will no longer be ports for connecting peripherals such as keyboards and mice via USB. You'll need to rely on Bluetooth connections for this.
